Manual steering rack?

Just wondering if there is a manual steering rack out there for our cars. We here at the shop are building an 86 IROC, gutted, tubbed, no Power steering and it's no fun. If there is one out there please let me know! TIA

your saying rack but you mean the steering box right? the steering box is a direct boltin. some people on here have used the pitman arm from the s10 some say to use the camaro arm. i used the s10 arm and it works fine. i have 3.5" front tires and it turns easy. just want to be sure you're not refering to a rack and pinion type.

It's not a true DIRECT bolt it. Yes, the bolt holes line up. But, the support gussets in the box casting will contact the swaybar mount. You have 2 options: Grind the swaybar mount or clearance the steering box. I clearanced the steering box.

The S-10 manual box works fine. If you want an actual manual steering rack and pinion, No there is no easy way to install one. You could buy the tubular front crossmember from www.paracing.net with manual rack mounts installed. You then buy an aftermarket "Mustang II" style rack and install it.
