i decided to do the red tail light mod and i must say i like it alot.

i used Testors 1605 translucent candy apple red paint... its a model paint that can be bought at walmart or whatever

i just used some laquor thinner to clean the lense surface, taped it up, and sprayed.

i used about 4 coats and it turned out good. i think i need to try to polish the rest of the tail lights to bring out some more shine.

Looks awesome orr. Doesnt matter your car looks sweet anyways esp with all those miles.. Hows the car running? Did you have a Happy New years justin? I sure did Also that red taillight mod would look good on a that Grand National

i bet it would look good on a GN too. and my new years was only ok.

 

I like the stock look. but it does look good. Only on Black cars though. All you need to do is polish the tailights and get some tint on her. Would look scwheeeet

AND GET IROC Z side decals!!!!!!! Dont give me that "to 1980s look" Those will look cool with it as well! I dont know if your Iroc had decals on it tho. I think some didnt come with them for a option

I'm suprised that the lacquer thinner didn't ruin the lense. Putting the thinner on the lense might have caused it to look fuzzy...like in the picture.

Looks real nice especially with the red iroc emblem on the rear. I'm still debating whether or not to do it myself. If I do I will do it from the inside of the lense rather than the outside for a cleaner look.

 

yeah the thinner stuff kinda rubbed some color off on the rag... i didnt know what else to try to clean it with, so i used that and it did ok. the lenses were somewhat cloudy to begin with, i guess they do need wet sanded. maybe i'll get around to that this spring.

well it did come with stripes on it--- the iroc decals. but it was repainted like 8 years ago and the owner bought new red decals for it but never put them on. i thought about it but decided to go without them for a more clean look. i sold the decals to a member on this board.
