It barely fits, I have a carb spacer on too. The bolts that hold in the hood louvers have hit the air cleaner a couple times and slightly dented the lid.

When I got my car I didn't know alot about cars in general, but I knew more than most normal people. I was kinda sad that I didn't have a carb, I was wanting an olde skool muslce car. I talked to a guy that used ot have a TPI '85 IROC, he was like "OMG, forget carb man, every carbed 3rd gen I raced got blown away, TPI rules" Since, I've learned alot more about cars in general, and I've taken pride in my TPI. I wouldn't mind having a TPI 383 someday... ahhh, if only...

P.S. Those pics make the car look purple, it's actually "Victory Red". In bright sunlight it can look like an orange metallic.

here's my engine. Notice how it is bare minimal......no useless garbage in there. AC delete, No airpump and no heaterbox. Valve covers are pretty unique too, don't believe I've ever seen them on another car.

Stock to stock, he's right, cause the LG4 was the carb engine and the TPIs were better. But once you start modding it's a different story.

Mark,

I noticed that you have that little plastic piece that goes between the radiator and the nose of the car missing.

I know that on some cars a stupid little piece like that can cause you to overheat!

But you have had no trouble I suppose? I just wonder if it might actually be a good place to pull move air over the radiator....

That's what my brother told me, I wonder if that had anything to do with running warm in traffic last summer, guess I'll put it back on.

Well I would think it wouldn't affect anything during traffic, but might on the interstate.

The airdam forces air up infront of the radiator and I would imagine that the little cover would help direct the air through the radiator instead of up and over the radiator into the engine compartment....but I'm just guessing.

I need to see what I can take out of my engine bay. I was looking at my engine bay this afternoon. I would like to do headers sometime but geez. I know I dont need AC but I will keep the blower. Gonna stick the battery in the trunk as well. Have to do some investigating what I can get rid of.

Its called a strut tower brace. It stiffens the front end. Mine came in UPS today. I need to paint the mounts and install that sucker. I have 2 days all to myself. FINALLY!!!

Heres it finally in the car... Finally got enough miles of break in to let her rip! Runs great. Alot stronger than the 350. Nothing was wrong with the 350, just the tranny went (actually the torque converter went) and I figured I drop it in (Hence the Chevy valve covers on a Pontiac, it was supposed to be for the camaro..)
