pics of twisted cat back i took

yea i know heddmans are good but hookers are better heh heh =) *looks@mark*....but seriously...the other night when my girl and i were goin to new jersey my cat back broke....the 3 inch pipe broke right behind the cats and started drapping the ground at 70 mph...i immediatly started divein across 3 lanes to get off the freeway....but, yall know those little metal grate things that seperate the bridges for expansion and contraction in different temps...well guess what that 14 guage 3 inch tubin caught on...when it caught it hit so hard it locked my seat belt up and it actually lifted the back of the car about a foot of the ground...and scared the **** out of me....i finally got to the shoulder and inspected the damage....when i looked under the car i didnt see my exhaust at all....i looked to the back of the car were the muffler would be and i saw that the 3 inch i-pipe was damn near wrapped around the axle ....the over axle pipe was bent in half and the i-pipe was twisted and bent in half also...even both tailpipes were kinked very bad....it bent one of the little lips on the panhard bar and from what i could see nothing else was hurt *sigh*...i limped it 30 miles back home and cut it off the next day and when i did the axle dropped 3inches because it was bound up cuz of the tubing wrapped around it....yes i took plenty of pics...

i posted this to refresh some of what happened
i have the pics back..i will be posting them in about an hour...i just tried to but my scanner is pissin me off i gotta fug with it

right now im runnig around on an open exhaust..i was gonna order headers and mufflers but other significant expense came up so it has to wait....other then it being really loud im sure for the few weeks without an exhaust wont hurt the exhaust valves...if it does i dont car the motor is getting rebuilt soon anyway.....

i still have the muffler so if anyone wants a flowmaster let me know i sell it for next to nothing...it has less then 10,000 miles on it

that could have done some serious damage...... just think if that would of somehow punctured the gastank then the sparks from the pipes bein dragged on the ground ignited the gas then u would of had yourself a burnt gen.

I saw that happen to someone a few months ago.. Must have been scary. This is why that part is supposed to be welded. The cat is connected to the underside of the car, so if it's welded together it's not gonna go anywhere. And if the cat disconnects somehow, you'll hear an exhaust leak to know to reconnect it to your y-pipe. Weld it next time!

it broke before in the same spot and i took it to an exhaust shop and they welded a sleeve over it from the i-pipe to the cats..and he checed the pipe (the y pipe) and said it was fine...this was a little over a year ago...and i didnt have any leaks whatsover...it literally happend all at once....i didnt even hear it start to leak...it just dropped and started draggin the ground...as soon as it dropped i was like "WTF" i kinda knew it was something to do with the exhaust cuz of were it was coming from...i put my blinker on and started across the 3 lanes..i almost made it off but it caught on the seperators and goddamn what a thud and when it lifted the car off the ground it scared the **** out of me...

my little girl was sleepin in the back and when it happend she popped up like a little pez lol...she was like "daddy what the hell was that" lol

i am lucky im glad nothing else happend...like the gas punture issue cuz im not coverd for fire

say, Ive seen the same thing but with a driveshaft. picture a car simply flipping upside down in the air at over 140 mph.
Reason? Driveshaft twisted right out of the tranny. hit the ground and... well.. you get it. never seen it happen in person, but seen a few pics.
