tpi or stealth ram on vortec heads?

Is it possible to put tpi or a stealth ram manifold on vortec heads. The reason I am asking is that I am going to build an engine and want to use the vortec heads because they are a good price and flow well. I have heard that you have to modify the intake bolt holes on the vortec heads or something? How do you do this. Would any machine shop know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

this is where someone says, use the SEARCH button. the stock tpi and HSR will not bolt up to the vortec heads without there being gaps in the ports. ya the intakes can be modded but its not worth the time. SDPC sells a special TPI intake for the vortec heads. the HSR on the other hand wont work. I think someone here already modified it but I think its not worth it. get a better set heads that line up perfect with the HSR.

Vortec heads have a raised port. Will not line up with a
conventional port manifold like a Stealth Ram.

There are Ram Type EFI manifolds availble for a vortec head.
That fit.

Use one of these instead of butchering up and Stealth Ram.
These Vortec style intakes have as much or more power potential.

Get a GM RamJet intake.

well, maybe I will just port and polish and do work to the heads that I have so that I won't have any hassles. Thanks for the help.

Just get the Vortecs and the SDPC TPI base to fit them (around $400 for the intake). That is still cheaper than just a set of other decent heads by themselves, which even though it fits you wouldn't want to run the stock intake on either...

I don't want to sound stupid here, but what is SDPC. I don't know much about TPI and that stuff because I am building a 383 to put in my camaro that has a 2.8 V6 in it right now. I was thinking stealth ram manifold because I heard TPI doesn't have much guts after 4500 rpm.
