Id just like to see what kind of setup people are using in their 3rd Gen's. Plus it's always nice to see a carbureted motor in our cars. Ill start with one of mine.

Superman, I love those valve covers. Are they hard to keep clean?

Thanks f-crazy. I'm about to be doing some updating in my engine bay. It should look real nice pretty soon.

MCas7

The valve covers are not hard to keep clean at all. All I ever do is wipe them down with a wet rag when I wash the car and they stay looking pretty good.

I was going to get those covers but I didn't really want to drill the holes for the breathers.

How much did you pay for them and where did you get them from?

I got those valve covers last year from Scroggin Dickey and I paid I think $175 for them. I just bought another set for my new 406 from them and they are $200 now. Nothing to drilling the hole, the covers already have bosses in them for you to drill so its pretty easy.

Oh, I didn't know they all ready had bosses. In that case, I might have to pick a set up. I have the polished aluminum covers from GMPP and they suck!! They looked awesome when I took them out of the box and even when I put them on the engine and drove it around for a few days. But as soon as they got a little drop of water on them.....CRAP! They look like someone dragged them across the pavement now. I tried polishing, buffing, everything and the pits won't come out.

Botlfed, that thing looks nuts. I plan on turbocharging soon, and am wondering about headers. Did you fab those up or buy them somewhere? What all is involved in tubocharging a carb'd V8? Single turbo...

Here's mine as it sat last year...

What is wrong with it? Besides needing to get rid of most of your stuff under the hood. Like smog and all the at least half the wiring.
