heh.. ive been waiting on these damn longtubes since last month...
hopefully whoever bought them can see this... if you're the guy who just bought my headers, please PM me ASAP.... id like to get this worked out.... he can make you your headers, and id reccomend getting them coated somewhere BESIDES ASC.. that way you get yours in less time then i waited... and i wont continue to wait for headers....

K, on clearance the ground clearance will be fine, watch at the lower control arm on the drivers side. I dented one primary to fix that so it should be fine. ACS has been good with me (I dealt with Jimmy). I'll give him a call today. Should be here in the next week-2 weeks. I'll call and find out for sure.

heh, i just sent him another PM telling him it would be OK to just make me another set..... if he can get them done in a week.. then i'll just send them off to be coated myself.
i havent gotten a reply back from him yet... but its only been 5mins.. lol.

So what is the deal with this guy and his header? I almost sent him money thru paypal a few weeks ago and he told me he had a set ready to sell... he was expecting them back from coating soon. The only problem is that they were only 1-5/8" primaries... I really needed 1.75" so I passed on them. Anyone know anymore on this guy? I really need a set of LT headers to complete my swap!

he sent them to ACS (big mistake... they take forever, lose parts, ect.... )
he hasnt gotten them back yet
id ASSUME that thoes headers are the same ones he has pics of... since hes now selling his LS1 stuffs...
ive had cash inhand for awhile now, and ive told him i had the money... his reply is that hes just waiting on them to come back from coating... understandable, alot of honest people wont sell a part until they have it in hand..
i dont think hes trying to con anyone... i mean, if he was, hed just take my money and never told me he sold them...
im just kinda pissed because i have no exhaust on my car, and im just waiting on these headers.

i gave up on long tubes.. if john from speartech can run 11s on stock manifolds with just a cam thats good enough for me.. mind you i probably will spend a good day porting them
but its bad to not havem and take peoples money.. who knows what acs will do
i was close to buying them at well but shyed off at the end, well my wallet shyed off, **** compounds exponentially when you live in canada

custom seems the only way to go. i was going to go the route of modified hooker long tubes, but the ground clearance wasnt there on my car. i ended up going with a tubular x-member, so i could have a set of headers built to fit the car better and keep plenty of ground clearance. i highly doubt any 4th gen header will fit even with the smaller x-member.

as soon as he got the message he apologized and made it right...
hes making me a set as soon as he gets the header/flanges in.
its just extremely frustrating knowing that someone is getting the part ive been waiting on.
but i can understand his position... hes had litterally 100s of people PMing him about the headers.... and nomatter how commited alot of them seem, they back out...
i figure im looking at atleast 3 weeks now.. if he orders the headers tomarrow from summit (or someplace similar) it gets there in 3 days.. then a week to make them.. then 3 days to ship to me.. then, after test fitting them, couple days to send them to TPI383 to be coated, a couple days to do it, then a couple days to get them back...
but atleast when they're done, i'll have some good headers....

but theres alot of LS1s out there running 11s stock internal with headers... i have a cam.. but i also really want thoes headers...
with a 224/228 114 cam, its not huge, but i should see mid 11s in my car with me driving... if i have headers. the split duration would help if i kept the manifolds, but id be giving up some power... after all this work, if i can get more power with no driveability problems, its worth it.

Power, power, and more power. With this cam and my other mods, heads, exhaust, etc, etc... my buddy's car ran 11.20 @ 122 in the heat of summer last year... that was with a T56, 28" slicks and 4.56's launching with a low 1.5 60'... I'm hoping for similar results with 4.11's and 26" tires... I have a moser 9" in the car now... it should be interesting to say the least

it just doesnt seem worth it too me to spend close to a grand of my funny colored money to get worked on the ground clearance to pick up maybe 20-25hp and the chance i'll hate the sound, quiets good for all the damn cops around here.. im also running the 231/237 cam so ill have some made up there and a cutout to go along with it.. i know the ls1's like headers but that can always be added by the next owner of the car
i have no intentions of drag racing it.. 18s wouldnt hook very well and i just hope it will move on the top end like I want it too.. just a weekend toy
and too clarify i wasnt ripping on the guy at all .. just agreeing with the others when you dont have a guarantee when you will get it to that person.. RamAirZ was awesome with the communication and I am dissapointed I couldnt get a set of headers from him
