My best times today

I ran a 15.786 @ 88.07mph
reaction .841
60 ft 2.260
330 ft 6.533
1/8 10.161 @68.82

and

15.781 @ 86.90mph
reaction .694
60 ft 2.355
330 ft 6.613
1/8 10.192 @69.44

that is running with my full stereo my tires at 24psi and a exhaust leak at the manifold.

Think I can get more et out of it with the weight out and the leak fixed.

This is my baseline with no engine work.

My Best Time as Well

I only did a few runs today, and since my car was getting slower and slower every run, I quit while I was ahead. I got a 14.36sec 1/4 Mile, i forget the MPH, something like 95.9 I think. I NEED tires... car wouldn't hook at all.

It was great seeing you guys there, Paul, IROCKER (Chris), 16th_Owner (Martin), Kevs87TA (Kevin, and the boys ), palric (Rick), TriggerGTA (Scott), and 92 Zedder (Steve?)... it was fun today... definately gotta do it again... maybe In Cayuga next time, try out that new track of theirs.

Hey, at least your first time out this season you got to drive your car home from the track and didn't blow it up like Cruz'N Bruz'R.

Hey guys

It's was nice to finally meet some of you's. Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone.
The day at the track was fun. A little dissappointing for me, but I'm still very encouraged.
From my first 2 pasts, totally blowing the tires off, to my final run, idling off the line, I gained .5 sec. and 4/10's on 60 ft.
I'm going to attempt posting my slips ( not that I'm proud of them ) just to show why I'm encouraged. ( not sure if this is going to work )
I think with suspension work and tires, there is enough power to go sub 2's at 60 ft.
We should do it again someday

It was a good time, even though I didn't race. As much as I was tempted to, I couldn't do it with my sons. As Paul said ,it gives him a baseline to go with, it would have been good to have that also. Oh well, I know what my car can do to a point so any mods will be noticeable (I hope )
I was good seeing everyone there. It is always nice to put a face with the names.I hope at the next meet, we get to see more guys out.

The weather looked like it was going to be crappy. Dave (Cruz n Bruzr) and I are planning on making that drive in meet next weekend. I've allready informed my instructors that I will be absent Friday We are planning on spending most of the weekend in the area. Are their any other car events happening that weekend?

Although I arrived late, I did get to meet a few of the Ontario bord members and see some extremely nice 3rd gens. Too bad that the weather didn't really hold out(damn chilly again). The chevy guys were not well represented though.I'm probably going to make the drive in event this comming weekend. As far as car events in the area, there is probably drag racing at Cayuga. On Saturday night there is racing at the oval track at Mosport. No official track events at the road course but usually there is some kind of activity going on there.I look forward to seeing more members at the next event(if the damn weather co operates).

Not gonna work.

Been trying to get my time slips posted, but can't get them to a size and colour, where they are readible.
I noticed as my times and 60fts. got better, my reaction times got worse. Defintly need traction work, so I can leave the line harder.
Like I said, nothing to be proud of.

1.... reaction .531
60ft. 2.502
1/8 10.309 at 70.41
1/4 15.761 at 89.84

2.... .636
2.447
10.241 at 70.32
15.714 at 89.64

3.... .701
2.381
10.077 at 70.63
15.527 at 89.63

4.... .853
2.194
9.780 at 70.80
15.211 at 89.98

Hopefully better next time

If you guys aren't running 3" Mandrel from ypipe back, with high flow cat's, this could be your restriction.... also, I had my y-pipe slight modified, where the left piupe comes down from the manifold, inside the y-pipe, there is reminance of that pipe, I had that cout out.

Also, If you guys don't have a chip (excluding paul of course ) then you should get a good one, and this will help a lot.

As for Trigger, I was also disappointed in the times you got, we gotta get that fixed, one thing I can think of is that the chip isn't allowing that cam to work at its best, I think its time for some custom chip burning Scott.

This is all I can think of.... AcceldZ may have some pointers too, he's been in and out of his engine a lot.

Also.... didn't find that lower tire pressure helped me at all... I think it takes from your Elapsed Time. When I hit Cayuga for the first TNT, I will let you guys know how I did with the new tires, and maybe some timing and fuel tweaking.

I've got a couple comments on what Nathan said. No offense buddy, but I gotta critic some of the comments.

Firstly, I totally agree on the exhaust mods. This does make a huge difference! And the y-pipe mod that Nathan has I'm sure makes a huge improvement over the monstrousity that we have.

Secondly, the key is a custom chip...I have the same chip as Scott and have noticed no difference in my car at all. I'll be heading back to the dyno soon to confirm this for sure, but as far as the butt-dyno is concerned, the ADS Superchip is garbage.

Now here's where I disagree...lower the tire pressure does make a difference. I know this for sure as I've experienced it myself first hand last year at the track. I always used to run with stock PSI...around 34 or so. Dropped it down to 26 and knocked off 4 tenths on next run. And as far as buying new tires, unless they are drag radials, don't expect much improvement. One thing I want you to keep in mind, and offer an explanation for why your times keep getting worst and worst as the day went on is because the temperature of the track got cooler and cooler as the day went on too. You were not the only victim of this...I made my best run on my second try and could not even touch it for the rest of the day. The last race against you before I left was the worst one. It has been noted by many people over the last couple weeks that St.Thomas has not been producing good 60 foots.

WOW 4 tenths by dropping the tire pressure?? That is hard to believe.. I will certainly be trying that the next time I am at Cayuga...

I will give it one more try when I get the new tires... but according to the numbers from saturday, the tire pressure hurt me. I'll try it again next month.

I heard that Cayuga is now not opening until July 1st now... quite annoying.

Yup, 4 tenths...but of course there may have been other factors involved too. I can notice a difference though off the line with the lower pressure.
