has anyone had problems with WALBRO pumps?
I have the chance to buy a walbro pump that's new but was never used from a member here. thing is the 1yr warranty is probably either already up or almost up. Should I just spend the extra $20 or $30 and get one with a warranty or do these things not break?

I've had my 190 lph Walbro for 5 years now and no problems so far. I've even ran it dry a couple of times (not good for the pump).

I had a 256lph high pressure in my TSi AWD and had no problems with it at all. It was a bit loud but as long as the sleeve was on the pump it was tolerable.

figures!!i'm the only person since the beginning of time to have problems with a Walpro pump!!
i went through 3 pumps in that many months.
1st pump would only push 15psi to the fuel rails.at first i thought i wasn't getting enough voltage to the pump.that wasn't it!i pulled the pump out to check the resistance across the pump.i'm glad i desided to cut an access panel for the pump.i had 0.05 ohms across the pump........it should be 1.7
bad pump.
2nd pump run fine for a few hours then all of the sudden i would only get 10psi at the fuel rails
i pulled the 2nd pump out
as i was checking for ohms resistance(0.04 by the way)i noticed there was a small slit in the rubber fuel line connecting to the pump.there's my problem right there.....easy fix
i pulled the pump off to replace the rubber line.for some reason i looked into the rubber line and saw why there was a slit in the line.the little metal nipple that holds the guts of the pump in had been puhed out by the pressure.a couple other parts of the pump fell out as i was moving the pump around.
3rd pump?haven't had any problems yet.
luckily the guy from www.aepusa.com was kool and didn't give me a hard time about replacing the pumps
ohh?and there was about a week to two week wait between getting each pump
i don't think i'll every get another Walpro pump again.

A friend of mine installed a Walbro in his car about 2 months ago as it was running lean under nitrous. We made it about 60 miles of the way to the track and it died.
By a stroke of luck another friend with us had another brand new identical pump in his car that he was going to be giving to a friend at the track that night. Installed it on the side of the road in about 15 minutes and were on our way again and it hasn't failed him yet. Just a shotty unit I guess, it happens now and then.
