Updated roll bar pics...

Here it is, as it sits today. Yesterday I welded in the side bars. I need to paint them to match the exterior (headed for the paint store now) then the interior can go back in.....

I am going to order new carpet too... Any suggestions on where to get it from? I want it to look factory new again, mine is a little off-color of what it was when I bought it.

Jason, In these pics i can see a little better the color of your car. If you look at the reflection of the sky, and it has that teal look? Mine does the same thing, so im willing to bet that its going to match just fine.. Cant wait!

are the arm rests going to fit? that seems to be an issue w/ some cages/rollbars.

No, the armrests are no longer. I bought the arm rest compatible door bars, but with my shoulders being so wide, it would have been against my arm at all times, so I just used straight bars. I have no desire to deal with that, so the armrests had to go. I plan to make some custom door panels with some type of handle to pull the door closed, no need for a rest now, the bar can serve that purpose. Getting in and out is actually very easy, the bar can be used to push yourself up when exiting, and sliding in is a piece of cake. My wife actually was impressed That alone says something....

I have had it for a few years, I just finally got around to finishing it. I don't remember the cost, but it came from S&W Racecars directly, check thier website for pricing.

I looked up the difference in colors for the 1991 and 1992 camaros, and it looks like in 1991 there was Ultra-Blue and Meduim Maui Blue. In 1992 there was only Medium Quasar. I dont know what to expect now...I guess it comes down to what age did to the paints..

Looks real good Jason!
Have you considered making a hatch for the fuel pump replacement? I think if it's finished very nice it would be super cool. I plan on doing mine.

Did you arc weld that together?

I actually do plan to put a "door" above the tank sender. As for welding, I used a Miller wire feed..

RU-QWIK nice car

I was on the boards today and I replied/asked question when I ran across this post. Did you install the cage yourself if so how did you level the car so you know for sure it was not in a bind? Like I said in the other post I had read a few articles in hot rod and carcraft and each article contradicts the other. The car should be on its wheels and suspension loaded , the other states the opposite that the car should be on jack stands away from the suspension point. I would like your advice as well as anyone elses on this matter. I plan on installing my cage asap.
That question I should also ask for installing subframe connectors.
Thanks inadvance!
P.S. California must be nice!!! Ill I see out my window is snow snow snow

We have started another warming trend. Thursday is supposed to be 79 degrees where I am and Friday around the same. Maybe I can hit the beach Saturday if the weather keeps up

LMAO You know what the worst part is? When it is cloudy or when it rains people actually complain about it. I mean it's sunny for like 11 months straight and when a couple days of bad weather comes in people are up in arms I wouldn't mind seeing a little cooler weather, today was warm! Damn 80 degrees the news said. A little too warm for January. If it keeps up like this we will have a major drought situation.

Speaking of weather, it is a little on the cold side this morning here in central California. I came home from work to find a little ice around the house...

I had the car in my garage, the front and rear were on jacks, as if it were on the ground though. I had the garage checked for being level by a friend that does surveying for a living. I now have a rack at work made specifically for doing sub frame connecters and rollcages, that should make matters much easier.

You have a rack at work? I thought the company you worked for made pistol grips. Did they put in a shop for employee car nuts? Awesome company!

Actually Russ, I have two jobs... Yes , one is a major business in the gun industry, but the second is at a local motorsports shop. We have only been open for 8 months now, but the work load is outrageous. The main work is installing lift kits, but there have been a number of Camaros and Mustangs getting subframe connectors, exhaust, superchargers, nitrous, etc. This job is by far the funnest work I have ever done, doing what I enjoy, and getting paid for it...

Yeah Jason, I would still like to trade the hoods, but I have been so busy lately with work, I have not had a chance to even think about taking a road trip.

My blue car was repainted (factory color repaint) back in 1992 under the paint recall. The hood and roof area started peeling when the car was not even a year old. Anyways, I doubt it matters since it has been re sprayed, but the car was built in November of 91.... Seems it would be a 92 model, but it is still a 91. Do you have the paint code from your car? That would tell us if it is the same blue or not.

The VIN number would tell me that... My car is a 3/92 production date... I have worked with many new car dealerships and anything after Sept is basically the next year model... You MAY be the same exact color as me... I will look up my vin and get you the color code... Thanks Jason... I would be more than willing to meet you half way...
