what do you think of the summit dual exhaust kit?

i am putting duals on my car and im looking at alternatives. part number SUM-CBJJ205 or SUM-CBJJ105 at summit. looks pretty good to me but does anybody know if i will have to do any welding? can i just use clamps? it looks good to me, i know its only 2 1/4 inch but im not running a high hp motor so its basically for sound and so i can fit my dipstick in the drivers side dipstick hole. this kit comes with headers, dual pipes, and 2 mufflers and it exits infront of the rear wheels wich is what i was going to do anyway.

What I can't figure out is where they intend to put the mufflers. Only result I can imagine is very poor ground clearance.

That is the dynomax kit just bundled together by summit. It has been discussed in the past and I guess it isnt even mandrel bent. You would be better off with a single 3". A single 3" and dual 2.25 pipes have approx the same inside area and if the 2.25 isnt mandrel bent then you loose any andvantage that you may have seen.

my thoughts exactly...dont waste your money with that kit, just get a single 3" exhaust from flowmaster or hooker for the same price and would perform better

Well, not exactly the same price, since this cute little bundle of a package contains soda straw Dynomax shorty headers, too.

I'd recommend getting a real set of headers with a real y-pipe and a real cat-back system. Yes, it'll cost you more, but less than what you'll spend getting this system, trashing it after getting sick of driving it for six months (assuming you and it last that long), and then getting a real exhaust system.
