Major Problem

My car wont start... Its a 1991 RS TBI 305...

This is the story... I bought it a day ago... I have known who I bought it from for a while... he said he put a new starter in and the battery is new but it kept clicking, well I took it anyway thinking I could fix it... There was no radio in it at all just the harness hanging there from another radio he was gonna give me... I was supposet to get that monday... but I already have a Deck... so I went to put it in following a diagram I snipped the wired one by one and attached them... so my radio works fine its excellent... all thats left of the other harness that was in there was 3 wires, a pink a grey and something else I just ignored... but now my car wont start, there isnt even a clicking at all... the battery is new and fine connections to it are good connections to the starter are good and I cant see a problem but the ****er wont start... I am so pissed, I dont understand how a ****ing radio could have anything to do with the starter and how the car starts... and now my electric hatch opener wont work either... I dont have a ****ing clue... please help... I am lost...

Have an assistant hold a meter probe or test light (or use alligator clips) while you turn the key. If you have 12V, the solenoid or starter is toast. If not, you have a wiring problem.

UPDATE

I checked all the fuses they are good... I light tested the starter and the red wires are getting power, the ignition wire next to them isnt getting anything even when I turn the key... I hot jumped the starter and it turned over so I know the starter and the selinoid are good, they are brand new... so now I know the ignition wire isnt getting any power, but I dont know where to go from there... I tried to follow the wire but it goes up into a mess of stuff... so I dont know if the wire burned out or its something to do with the ignition.... Anyone have a wiring diagram or something that might help... I am not sure what to do from here...

If you're not getting 12V to the 'S' terminal when you turn the key, you have a problem in the circuit from the ignition switch. That could mean a VATS problem, neutral safety switch problem, or the ignition switch itself.

Do you have the original ignition key for the car? Does it have the black/silver pellet (VATS resistor) at the base of the key cut? What does the "SECURITY" lamp do on the dash when you turn the ignition?

Would WATS do that on a TBI car?

I have both VATS keys and neither of them work... When I turn the key I get the "SECURITY" lamp for a moment and then it goes out... Is it possible that something got caught up in my tilt wheel or broke or something in there? It seems as though everything works except the starter...

EDIT: I mean I have both VATS keys and neither of them start the car in this problem... So I am assuming its not the keys...
