LT1 win with 305!!
At a light today next to a 4th gen Z-28 and I thought, crap, Im done, so whe it turns green i take off like I usually do (not racing) and I hear a chirp from behind me so I plant it and stayed ahead of the Z-28 until I shut down, it was only until about 50 or 60 but he wasnt catching up, then he went by after I was done. I think his car was stock but he still had at least 75 hp and more torque on me! The car was red and he was listening to Rage, if your on here please respond. I guess it pays to work with what you have, mods are in the sig(not many).

if you can drive those 305 TPI 5 speeds aren't all that bad. There are a couple guys on here with basic bolt ons running low low 14's and high 13's with 305 TPI 5 speed cars. Congrats on the kill!!
haha 4th gens are fun...they always think they're faster because they're newer
Other day a girl in a V6 camaro was tryin as hard as she could to pass me...and I wasnt flooring it all the way
but yeah those LT1s arent slow, Ive been beat by a few modded ones that just ran away like I was in reverse..good kill

I believe it for the following reasons.
He has a 5 spd and probably hung it in first or second to see if the guy would go. So he was already in his powerband.
He was already maybe a car length ahead because the guy wasn't racing at first.
The LT1 was probably an auto with crappy gears and when the 305 took off the LT1 had to play catch up and let it downshift. If they raced a little longer and that LT1 spooled up than he would have gotten passed.
Good Kill

yep, I was a carlength ahead when I heard him chirp and I heard his rpms go up, thats when I went ***** out and stayed ahead, Im sure If we kept at it he would have caught up but there was traffic ahead and I promised myself that I wouldnt race on the streets after my other car was killed that way, thats why I shut down and when I did I was ahead, I dont think you were in the passenger seat next to me so that disqualifies you as being able to call

He starts off at a major advantage, gets the jump, and shuts down quickly before the other car get into its powerband, and you call that a good kill?
This is why streetracing sucks.

I know you supported me shiftyc, since I was there and know what happened I know that you have a better idea of how things work by your support. I had a better chance than any 305 hater thinks I would have, unlike other people that werent there, that dont believe me
. Like I just said before, I had an advantge, I took it, I won, I shut down cause I love my camaro on top of the fact that I didnt want to hurt or kill anyone in the traffic that was right in front of me, if it was open, I would have kept going and the LT1 would most likely would have won, I know my limits. Im not trying to bs anyone, I wouldnt bother with my time to post if I wasnt excited about how I was keeping up to a technologicaly(sp?) advanced car, with more cubes, blah blah blah. And by the way I was holding him off at the time it would have been a while before he caught up. Thanks Shifty for the faith, you rule:rockon:

its fun beatin up on the 4th gens a bit. i took an LS1 in the twisties on a back road. he probably wasnt the best driver, and my suspension is modded. but he pulled up next to me at the stop sign at the end of the street and he couldnt beleive its a 305.

I've seen LT1's run mid 14's before. It's all in the driver. My cousin seen a standard Vette run HIGH 14's.....now is that bad driving or what? What goods a 350 horsepower car, when my l69 with a great driver can be on your rear fender
. Not saying I'm a good driver, just I haven't had enough experience driving hard yet, but from what I have seen, sometimes...its a drivers race.

if u match up a bad driver with a great driver the good driver is always gunna win unless the match up is sooooo uneven it isnt funny like say a honda hybrid(83hp) vs a vette... the driver is everything, learn to drive! it is ur best "mod"...
