World 305 S/R Dyno Results.......
I have the dyno results on the engine I have been working on my Scanner bit the dust today so I'll have to buy a new one later in the week...But the Dyno numbers were as presented...
Stock 305 Block...Hydraulic Roller Setup
Stock Tuned Port Injection (87-later)
World Products 305 S/R Torquer heads. Ported and Polished.
Stock Valve Train components on heads
Comp Cam hydraulic roller 210 220 .480 lift .480 exh
Stock Computer and Chip
Reset TPS
Adjustable Fuel Regulator (Crane Cams)
These are Fly Wheel Numbers
Made a grand total of 306 hp @5100rpm
Total Torque 366 torq@3800rpm
Pretty Impressive numbers for only $1200 worth of parts (Heads/Cam)...Can't wait to get the engine back in the bay

Just cleared the one HP per cube. Nice going! Did you have any wide band O2 readouts to get started on tuning?
Good to see those numbers as I have a bit wilder version in the works.

GokuZ06Roc-
Nice work. Real encouraging for us 305-guys I should say, at least it is for me.
Was wondering about the dyno run itself. Engine was out right? Are you pretty comfortable that the flywheel numbers are accurate? I guess if the engine was out it probably would be pretty accurate. Any accessories run to simulate being in the car, or just the engine? What sort of dyno was it run on? If you wouldn't mind, please tell us a bit more about the dyno run. I tend to be a bit skeptical but no harm or disrespect is meant - I think it's mostly because of my profession that I have to stay skeptical all the time.....and I'm just curious about dyno runs since I've never had and engine dynoed.
Thanks, Kevin

ok Tuned port Injection was a stock 305 TPI unit out of an 87....The Comp Cam which was recommended to me by an individual at Thunderracing.com was a very good choice what set's it a little bit more apart is the 210 intake and the 220 on the exhaust side it is my experience that this cam is probably the biggest you should use on the 305....The Block is also a stock replacement block. So it's not any new wonders thrown in...The Valve train was the stock valve train on the World Heads which came cout of the box.....The Heads were given a pretty good port and polish which i commend as gicing them so much hp.....I remembered reading a long time ago maybe 2 years ago the summer 2001 of Camaro Performers in which there was a few tests down on unmodified 305 S/R heads the valvetrain was the stock and it was an stock 87-later tpi intake. there peak HP was 266@5000 and for torque the numbers were 337@3600... So i beleive that porting these Heads make a HUGE tramendous difference.....this Test to answer your question was run on a Electronic DYNO (out of the car) at a place called DYNO-Motive In Placentia, California where my brother inlaw had been able to monitor what they were doing seeing how I'm from NY, and there is'nt anywhere around upstate where this Dyno is. it was about 200 to freight out to CALI and about 200 to freight back home
. But to Answer your other question about running it was that there were'nt any accessorys... ony Water pump, and Crank...so i believe if put into a vehicle it would prolly make 295 with accessories (AC,etc...) and maybe around like 260-270 rwhp.. I believe that this is a very good Combo... I want to get the dyno sheet to show u guys these numbers, because it's very impressive to see...but i can believe skeptics because that's almost 100 hp more than stock (190hp stock). But also the Torque is alot high about 80 ftlbs more.

oh also the heads were bought from a place on yahoo.com called H~M performance for about $390 each..... I know it seems expensive but all the parts a bolt on and easy for the weekend warrior.... the part number of the 305 heads is as follows
042750-2...Remember that these heads were ported

what i wanted to do initialy was the 335ci but i just found out i don't have much money lol......but i believe with maybe these world heads w/ a good port job those 335 numbers will jump immensly....i would imagine to maybe even 290 rwhp

To the guy with these heads...if i was to get these heads, and port/polish them, would it be a bad idea to change the springs that come with them to a set of Crane Springs that match my cam? Or should I go with a more aggresssive cam than that is in my sig?

I believe u can either keep the stock springs or get the crane cams springs it's a choice....I kept the stock 305 s/r springs ( 1.437" Dual 125#seat) because anything over stock LB9/LG4 heads is a great benifit.. You can most definately keep the springs on the 305 s/r's and be fine with the cam u selected.
