Can you be more specific about what q-jet you mean?

Here's a claim for over 500 HP http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=EDL%2D1910 , which is probably defendable. A computer controlled q-jet would supprt a 383 to 7000 RPMs, or a 454 to 6000 RPMs from a flow-capability standpoint. But, getting the CC circuits to support idle and primary functions of such engines could be a challenge.

I would punch myself in the face if I ever got beat by a smallblock with a quadrajet. They leak and I don't like them. I have never seen a well tuned one.

GASGZLR, anytime you want to line up, I'll show you a good one.

There are countless 9 and 10 second Super Stock cars running Q-Jets. Is that enough power for you?

QJet is one of the best carbs ever, period. A lot of people tear off a QJet, and order a holley or edelbrock, and find that their car never performs as good as it did. When properly tuned that qjet will probably outperform a holley or edelbrock.

Well, there is that F/SA '67 327 Nova that frequents Bandimere, runs low 12's here, seems to be able to run the number when he bracket races (bulbed against me earlier this year and was within .01 of his dial when he ran it out).

Let's view this from a different angle. What are you wanting out of the q-jet? What type of power are you aiming for?

Well I want good throttle response, maybe a 450/500 potential on motor. I do want good gas mileage though, but I'm not that greedy for it. Is this feasible with a worked qjet? How much would a nice one cost me plus the tune up parts?

450-500 N/A HP and good mileage dont even belong in the same sentance. 500 HP N/A and streetable are barely relative.
