Hagemeyer Auction Outlet, Ebay seller warning...
I recently purchased a set of 6 Wilton 56 2-1/2" Super Junior C Clamps on eBay. The seller was an auction house called Hagemeyer Auction Outlet. The ad showed a sample picture of the clamp which clearly showed them embossed "MADE IN USA". When I got the clamps they turned out to be made in India to Wilton Specifications. WTF? I would never have placed a bid for them if I knew they were imported. I've attached a picture from the auction and a link to their eBay store. They are currently selling more of the same item and other sizes of Wilton clamps. I don't know if the deception was intentional or if it is just a case of a large company where the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Regardless, the company has a great opportunity to restore good will with their customer by offering a good return policy. Here is theirs:
"No Guarantee and No Warranty
All Hagemeyer Auction Outlet items are sold "as is" and are non-cancelable and non-returnable. HAGEMEYER MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE) WITH RESPECT TO PRODUCTS FURNISHED OR SERVICES PERFORMED HEREUNDER.

that is bs. their response had nothing to do with where the tool was manufactured. they seem to being trying to cover their butt but have no clue as to how to do so.

Any chance wilton themselves might make this good? It sucks but more and more companys are doing the same thing. or perhaps Ebay. Afterall the company clearly wanted people to think they were getting made in the USA tools. Maybe you could convince ebay this is false advertising?

If you bring it to their attention that submitting a picture of an item that's different from what they're auctioning off is considered misrepresentation by Ebay's policies (unless they state "item may be different than what is pictured") they might just give you a refund. If not, report them to ebay, and let 'em know you reserve the right to leave a negative.
