Gas pedal still sticks.
I know it is not the linkage, or the throttle body. It works fine when the car is off. I just rebuilt the throttle body so I know that it is not the problem. Could it be some type of backpressure? I need your guys help. Thanks.

Could you elaborate a little bit on exactly what's happening? Where is the throttle sticking at, 1/2 throttle, WOT? Have you checked the linkage connection and pivot point(s) of the gas pedal at all? How do you know it's not the throttle linkage (I am not trying to insult your intelligence, I'm just curious)? Have you installed an open element air cleaner recently, or double-checked that the throttle lever isn't hitting the bottom of the air cleaner?

Well, I know it is not the linkage because I can push the pedal with ease when the car is off. As soon as the car is on the pedal sticks for about the 1st half-inch it is pushed down. Then is goes eaisly the rest of the way. If I am on the highway and I let off of the gas for less then a second then push it again, it pushes eaisly the whole way. But, if I cosat for while then push the gas it will sitck for about the first half inch it is pushed. It' hard to describe, ask any more qustions if needed. Thanks.

Hmm, sounds tricky.
I have a suggestion. See if you can get the throttle to stick with the car running but parked, and then disconnect the thottle cable from the lever, and see what happens. If the thottle lever stays where it is, than the problem must lie in the TBI unit itself (could be the bearings, throttle shaft, etc.). If the throttle lever closes, than the problem must lie in the throttle cable or the gas pedal.
If never personally tried that before, but that should work, it makes sense to me, at least
.
I'd also suggest just double-checking that the throttle cable and the throttle lever aren't hitting anything, like the bottom of the air cleaner, fuel lines, etc.

Did you put new throttle shaft bushings in? I did on my 4-bbl dfi throttle body and it was smooth with engine off and stuck horribly with engine running. Ended up honing bushings slightly and no more problems.

Exctly what did you do and what did you change?
In the process of cleaning it could you have washed some of the lubricant off of the bushing?
Is there anyway the throttle blades themselves could be rubbing on the throttle body gasket?
Did you change anything while doing this?

I took the entire throttle body apart, then I soaked it with acetone. Then I repleced all the gaskets. So the lubricant may have washed off. But a re-applied some oil to the bushings. Also, yesterday I noticed that the longer I coast for the harder it is to push the pedal at first. I want to say some type of pressure is building up, but I'm not sure.

I don't see what lubrication will do for it when the car is running. The pedal is perfect when it is off, the throttle body works fine, but as I said before the engine has to be running for it to stick.

Well I did some research and I found out that this can be caused by the vacuum created by the air rushing in to the engine. So I am wondering how to fix this. Should I drill little holes in the throttle plates, or will that mess up the fuer/air mixture?
