Shes for sale :(

Well, its been long, hard thinking, but no more plans for this car. No 350 swap
No 91-92 gfx swap
No 5" spoiler
No SS hood

Im selling it It might not be the nicest third gen around, or the fastest (LOL its a 2.8) but It is my first Car, so its kinda hard to let go.

But there is some good news. I located an 1985 Camaro 350 (says its in good condition) that Im gonna check out in the next few days. I wouldnt even think of not buying another thirdgen though. But the only reason is, Im in my last year of highschool, and I need a job, so I cant take the time off to do everything I wanted to, plus all the work involved in the engine swap is what scared me.

The camaro im looking at is only 2500, and I have a potential buyer for mine for 3200....So Im coming out on top So Here is probably the last pictures of her....they are a few months old, cause shes sitting in 2 feet of snow right now

I'll jump on the bandwagon! My car is for sale... Not.

Are you sure that '85 has a 350? L98 came out in '87 so watch out.

The main reason Im selling mine is beacause these cars are getting so damn expensive. Like my v6 auto....first offer was 3200....theres a v6 auto t tops for sale for 6000 in calgary! So Im thinking I gotta get one fast.

Second reason is Im tired of the sllloowwwnessss. People see my hood pins and come up to me and ask "Doood what you got under the hood" I go all red....smile...and say...."nothing" I hate that lol

And 305q_ta86 at least you have 2 of them lol.

When I go look at that 85 I will try to snap some pics

Yikes, why would you want to put a SS hood and 5 inch spoiler on a slow v6 car... especially a 2.8?

As for the engine, have the guy get the numbers off the block, and look it up.

Call whoever it is that's selling this car and tell him to get the numbers off of the block. Since this has to be a swap, he should probably be knowledgable enough to be able to find them for you.

http://www.nastyz28.com/spmenu.html

That's one site I found by searching 'chevy engine code' on google.

hey man i understand where your coming from- my 92 RS 3.1 is a dog- i mean it looks good with the Z high rise spoiler, the Z grill, the 4th gen seats and what not- but it had no power i was tired of getting stomped on- i have a 383 for it ive been building for a while- but there was no time to take it off the road while im in school- thats when i passed the grand national for sale, begged- borrowed- and stole to get it, and now i can do whatever i want to the camaro- mine just had too much sentimental value with all the memeories in it to get rid of it.

I hear ya 83_Camaro. Even though this isn't my first car, or my first Camaro. My car was for sale, b/c I was tryin to catch up on some stuff. But now, the car will be paid for with my tax returns in a month, so there is no point now. Instead, I'm gonna fix everything that I wanted to. New valve springs are needed, bigger injectors, badly needed computer work, new tranny w/stall, etc. Good luck with finding a new thirdgen bro. Always be wary of people trying to sell you something that doesn't seem quite right. Just remember to come here and ask any questions.

Cause i love the look of them......Im deceptive

- AJT86 I know what you mean by memories, but cars come and cars go, as long as I get another third gen I should be happy. Even though Im still sad to let it go

- BadBowtie88 i wish i got tax returns....lol....but yeah these boards have helped me out ALOT, and before I do anything I usually ask on here

megaracerx ....you saif the F word....why would you even THINK of a ford.....**shakes finger**

The thing is, the last time I tried to sell it, well my parents tried cause it was leaking oil (still kinda is shhhh) whenever someone would call I would say Oh its not for sale, and my parents wondered why it never sold but now its my decision

Since when are these cars getting expensive?

Just in look on ebay or in autotrader, these cars are still cheap as hell. GM made over a million thirdgen f-bodys, it will be a long time before these cars start getting valuable (with they exception of some certain models)

Think again man, when a V6 auto berlinetta is going for 3200, and the buyer says its a good price... you know they are going up. If you goto www.nada.com you can see its value and ive watched and its been getting higher. So I have to get the car I want soon. Heres another example, In the summer there was 2 white convertibles for sale. One was 12000 the other was 10000. Thats not cheap

***Update***

i called about that 85 camaro, and well, its not a Z, or an Iroc, had to make the call short so this is what I got from him

- Rebuilt 350 put in by him and his friend
- Mags
- Auto tranny
- Body is good

I of course forgot to ask the color and intake.....but I might go check it out durring the week.

***ANOTHER UPDATE***

Kay so I called back, and well, its blue, with silver racing stripes, and the body/paint is in really good condition. It used to be a V6, but him and his friend converted it to the 350. Its carburated.

So Im going after school tommorow to check it out, If I remeber I will bring the camera and let you guys see some pictures of it

The only problem I have with it, no ground effects But at this price and the money Im making off mine, I think I can afford to goto the junkyard and pick some up.

1. make sure it hasnt been trashed

2. good luck finding GFX around here..

Psh good luck. That place sucks. I mean, i have spent countless hours there, but it PALES in camparison to what the Americans here call even a 'mediocre' (sp?) yard. Every car is 85 or older, so no new gfx. and I have been looking for one part to my front left one that tore for months, nothing. I often have better luck with Buck's, which is located just off deerfoot, IIRC, and they often have a few thirdgens, but still nothing special..
