Well I had to pay for the flight, the lodging, and the gas to get her home, but yes $850 for the car is what I paid, 78,000 original miles on the body, and 2600 miles on the rebuilt motor.

I am so estatic right now I can't contain myself. Today I replaced the entire wiper assembly, headlight dimmer switch, and I need seat belts bad but all in good time. I came across a Firebird with mint blue interior today but passed on the black/blue change. I really don't like the carmine red in there now but I will wait for a total swap when a car comes in.

yah, that's a hell of a deal. For a car like that I would guess around $4000 or so would be the normal asking price! Whoever you bought it from must have REALLY needed to sell it!!

Being an 85, it could have had the carb motor stock, was it a TPI or carb car to begin with?

I think according to the RPO codes it was carbed, the new motor that is in it now is a 350 and has 2700 miles on the rebuiled. I need to tinker with the motor to tune her correctly so I need to do alot of reading and asking here. She kinda bogs slightly on a fast acceleration and I am totally new to the big block world. Good thing it is still 60 degress here during the day so I have been able to do alot of TLC work.

eh...a 350 is a small block, not a big block.

the Tech/General Engine board is GREAT...i would live on there for the next little while till you get enough knowledge to be 100% confident to tackle anything thrown your way. especially with a holley sitting on top of that motor! the carb board will help alot too!

I bought my car off of a friend for a dollar, but I've put way more than $850 into it so far and it has 172,000 miles and doesn't look nearly as good.

If I'm not mistaken, that hood probably costs at least $350.

Great deal!
