Alright guys, let's set up a FAQ.
I'd like to know what questions you guys and gals see pop up time and time again... V6 specific. You can see I'm starting the FAQ for our forum, and I'd like it to be comprehensive, without going overboard.

for starters im gonna try to get some detailed flow numbers from super6 on their heads, i know dean may have tried once without success, but if i get any info ill send it to ya.
One thing i really like about the fiero.nl boards is that a lot of people create build threads for everything they do . . . progress updates, pictures, documentation, it makes for a really great ongoing source of information. Now i realize there arent that many people doing crazy stuff to their 660 thirds, but i think we should make an effort toward public documentation.
sometime soon i'll gather together some of the parts researching ive done, i dont have the time now though.

Anything on the early carbed 2.8's ive been having a hard time coming up with anything thats related to the 82-to when ever the last year of carbed 2.8l's are.
The first and formost thing I can add to a FAQ list is strip as much excess baggage weight out of the car as possible. A 60*v6 3rd gen's performance dramatically decreases in acceleration with every 100 lbs added- so things like passengers and those sub amps speakerboxes thingies have to go.

1985 was last year for carb on 2.8s
when i was looking at v6 birds i wanted the oldest one i could get with fuel injection ( i have a carb fobia). and in my research found that 86 was 1st year for fuel injection. making 85 last year for carb
EDIT!!! i was wrong 85 was 1st year for FI, 84 was last year for carb. (see everyone correcting me below) 86 was first year for those "bumperlets" that i like.
also, if you want to show agood CAI in the FAQ link to mine
it's awsome (see signature)

I have posted super6 heads flow rates before. They are on there site as well.
A link to my 3.4 thread I created
The old faqs page that was created was fine IMO, just needed to be updated.

im talking real flow numbers, .100 .200 .300 .400 .450 .500 lift. port volume, cc volume(if they changed it at all). max flow numbers arent worth anything if they only flow at really high lifts, or if they massively increased the runner size, etc.
i think when your doing something like this, its a lot easier to start over fresh than pick up someone else's marginally complete job. thats how it would be for me at least.

'84 was the last carb year for the 2.8. In '85 was the change to FI along with the higher HP engine - speaking of which, what exactly were the differences (other than carb to FI) that gave the '85 up 2.8's 30 more HP?

what happened to teh guide that was being worked on/stickied? good reference material there????
IIRC, the 84 HO carb heads were the same as the fuelie heads, w/the larger valves than the regular carb'd heads.
edit: what happened to all the stickies??

Definitely it should include links to where parts can be purchased. It could even go beyond that, like making a list of scrap yards that have firebirds/camaros. For all I know there is only one firebird in south Ontario scrap yards (Stoney Creek)
As for retail stores I found Part Source to have most parts but they are expensive. NAPA is pretty good and cheap and also has body parts. Canadian tire has cheapest and lowest quality of wear and tear parts.
On-line Places?

TechSmurf was going for a really in depth, comprehensive FAQ/ReadMe... personally, I think a FAQ should be for that - frequently asked questions. I don't think it should detail every single thing that you could possibly ask
So how about a small writeup, on the changes that the 60º V6 underwent, as it evolved? Add that?

Yes, It is there, its in jpg or pdf format. I have printed it out somewhere *looks around*. But they do have flow at x lift.

just my 2 cents
well alot of people always ask about performance mods maybe set up a list of basic bolt ons your can do to the v6 with prices and part numbers. And people also ask about hp numbers for the v6 and stock quarter mile times for the different 60 degree v6's and different trannys would be nice.

if you do my 3.4 thread, can someone do a spell/grammar check on it please. I suck at english.
My header install might move, but if you want, you can copy/paste the text to somewhere on here, aslong as you post that I'm the orginal creator.
Maybe them 2 need to be summited as tech articals on the main page?
