I've been looking everywhere for a 4th gen console, does that place have a website or number? Is there anywhere else that would carry them, I tried all the junk yards in my area and no luck. Any help would be nice.. Thanks,
Joe

What about Camaros? Can you do the 4th gen intertior swap on them? I've only seen them on Firebirds. I would think the console and seats would be easy.

the camaro and firebird bodies are so similar that the interor should swap in jsut as e-z as ina firebird. the prob with doing the console is that camaros (82-92) had a one peice console where firebird(82-02) and camaro (93-02) have two peice console. so the mating of the two console is the hard part

ok here are the installed pics. it took lots of moding to the radio pod. but i am almost done just need to recarpet. cover over my mistakes. u have to actually separetes the 2 sides of the radio pod. i cant get the front cup holder to work. it seem like to much cuting and the pod will lose to much strenght.
i cant post these pics yahoo never seems to work so go to the link and click on installed console!

just FYI the 82-84 Firebird consoles are very similar to the 82-92 Camaro consoles in that they're one piece. Pontiac didn't go to the two piece console till 1985.

I looked. I can appreciate your efforts, it actually looks better than I thought it would. I just don't understand what the facination is with the fourth gen console. I have one in my 96 Formula and I think it is worse than the one I had in my 89 Formula. The cupholder is worthless. As soon as you tap the brakes your drink goes flying forward because the lip on the holder is shallow toward the front. Brilliant design. There was a bright side to the console.... the ashtray was so strangely positioned, I eventually stopped smoking in the car. If you are just going for "shop talk" I guess it is worth it, but if you were changing them for function, I think you probably took a step back. Just my .02

I just noticed you had the later design. So maybe the cupholder is different. My position still stands however.
