**** guy wussed out on buying my Camaro!

I had a deal with this guy. My camaro all the mods and all the sterio system in it for $5,000. He couldn't come up with the money! This other guy that works with my friend said that he would give me $4,500 for it. Should I take that or stick with $5k?

I swear, I have never understood why you guys always say that you cant get more than $1,500 for a third gen. Sheesh, slap on an exhaust, $350 CD player, nice speakers and any kid will give you what you want! Anyways yep Im a Ford guy now (yuck) but hey I am working on prying that blue oval off the rear bumper. Bleh I like the Cobra though. LOL jk, I like it

monkie, i'd have to agree with ya about and exhaust and a nice stereo. def makes it a much easier sell. i am contemplating selling my 'bird in the spring/summer as long as i can afford a down payment on a newer car....but whats even more ironic (it pains me to say this) i have been pricing out 1999+ gt's and cobras. i love the new TA's much better...but $$$$. plus, now that i am in the working world full-time and my career is taking off i need something that presents a different image at least for work. someday i will always have a TA for the weekends.

so you like the cobra? hows the handling?? never been in one, been in a 97 GT though. you thing springing the extra cash is worth it for the cobra over the GT. i am aware to the HP differences....

Yea I like it. Its much more forgiving on daily driving than the Camaro was. Rides great. And the 99+ Cobra has IRS that makes it handle good. Only problem is I can pop the clutch at 4,000RPMS with drag radials and bet you $100 that I will break my half shafts. But 1: its under warrantee and 2: I am getting ones that can handle 500hp. So its no big deal. And dont waste you time with a GT. They are pointless. I knew it was either a Cobra or nothing. I wont drive a POS GT. here is what the Cobra has over the GT...I can only tell you about the 99 year tho sorry.

The Cobra had a better tranny, a completely different engine DOHC, IRS, limited production, better resale value, better suspension, most all were all leather, and stock white face gauges.

If you are thinking about getting a Mustang dont make a mistake either get the 95 Cobra, 98 Cobra, or the 99 Cobra. Trust me those are the only good years!

if knew how to quote i would.....but ford owners are definately their own breed!!! thats for sure.....

but thanks for the info, much appreciated. and the info about popping the clutch could prove valuable someday....LOL! i have been looking around for only a few weeks and after learnign about the engines and SOCH vs DOHC etc...i kinda fell into the same mindset. Cobra or nothing....GT just doesn't seem worth it in comparison. and pretty much for the same reasons, didn't know about the tranny though. so you just helped add a little more motivation to find one....hahaha! HOPEFULLY i am looking to buy at the end of spring beginning of summer.....but need to tackle the insurance challenge next. thanks for the info.....probably be talking to ya more about it in the coming months.....long live the f-body & thier owners.....lol!!

Take an amp or two out, then sell it for $4500. Then, if you don't want the amplifiers, put 'em on eBay.

Yes I hear you on this one. They come up with the lamest excuses, like my friend goes on about how he hates pop-up headlights, its only cause Ford doesn't build cars with them. He goes on about how terrible it makes the vette look. Then you can't forget the ongoing of the camaro interior sucks, who cares what the interior looks like, its on the line that counts...geez Ford guys... But this same guy when we had to pull a car out on ne years, let me hook my dads 94 Chev 1/2 ton to it...hmmm...
Now that I am done venting

Take the money and RUN!!!! Run I say, this guys is a quack if he will give you 4500 for a v-6 thirdgen(no offence to your car), he could buy an iroc with that. for 4500 american I would have an iroc...lol

No see in a Ford mans eyes that is not recent enough. See in his mind he believes that Ford got smart and got rid of pop-up lights. So therefore he is justified in his views...lol.
(Yeah I can name a few others, on such is the 70's marqees)
