1990 G92 IROC-Z

SALE PENDING

Me and my dad promised ourselves we'd try and hold onto this one, but insurance is getting too much to handle on both cars. There's only 3 drivers in our house and we don't need 3 cars and a truck.

The specs are:

-Ultra Metallic Blue
-hardtop
-305/T5
-G92 car (performance rear end with disc brakes)
-cloth interior
-power windows, power door locks, power driver seat, tilt, cruise, power hatch release, etc etc.
-96,xxx miles (I think, could be 97,xxx I can't remember)
-new paint

It runs like a champ, burns more rubber than I care to pay for. It's at the shop right now getting a small exhaust leak fixed and getting the EGR valve replaced so the check engine light will stop coming on. It fast-passed at the Missouri emissions testing only a few months ago. It's a strong running car for sure.

Before we sell it we will also be repainting the door locks and handles because when we buffed out the car after we painted it, the buffer ripped off most of the black paint on them. We will also be getting the headliner redone (again) because when we had it done the first time the hole was made too big for the dome light and they had to use a patch.

I'll attach a few pictures, please do not post if you're not intending to buy. If you're a serious inquirer I will email you more pictures as requested. The starting asking price will be $7,500 but is negotiable.

UPDATED with new pictures:

Only grinds going into reverse sometimes, you have to come to a complete stop before you put it in reverse to get it to not make the grinding noise. Doesn't bother me enough to get it looked at because it doesn't hinder it's driving abilities.

The clutch is less than 6 months old...

Well, if you still have it in a few months I may be willing to make a trip down to pick it up.

Definitely a nice car. I have been looking for an original 5spd hardtop blue car. not that easy to find....

I'm not sure. I'm about 30 min closer than St Louis, if you happen to know how long it takes you to get to St Louis.

I'm going to try and get some more pictures of under the hood and the underbody tomorrow before I go in to work. I'll post them up when I get them.

Soon as I get my car sold, guess I'll be up hanging with ya for a weekend and guess that means I'll have to test-drive the IROC .

Bump for a nice looking car, it's a shame it's not an auto!

Would cost me too much to get a manual to live!

TTT!

PM me your bottom line and if you're willing to transport or meet half way(i could fill the floor and swap in an auto)

Please send me pics of the under hatch area, door jams, etc.

Re: 1990 G92 IROC-Z

Ill rephrase my question..

Was this the car you repainted by taping over the emblems/stickers instead of removing it?I think for that price the people interested have a right to know.

You want it on pm so the truth wont be heard.

The only person thats whining here (and to the mods)is you.NEWB

Do you seriously not get it? The person buying the car will DRIVE IT AND LOOK AT IT with their own eyes BEFORE I get money in my hand

The body panels were on the car when it was painted, and the door decals are the original ones. The stripes are new. You're right, everyone has the right to know anything they want about the car...now please stop whoring my thread with your arrogance. This thread is so people looking for a 1990 5spd IROC-Z can buy one, not for you to sit here and undermind my car.

I'm glad to see this thread has been purged, people need to lay off this IROC. If you dislike it, get out of this thread and say nothing. No matter what, it's an agreement that this is a rare and very solid car. I would happily give up my Camaro for it... and obviously I don't drive some lame paint-faded V6 RS. Is it Nick's fault for going step by step with you guys on this site and keeping you involved... just because some of you know all the work Nick did with this, you think the car is horrible because things have been fixed/upgraded.

Basically it tells me that the Mods are all for misleading ads. Its pretty sad that this board has come to this. No wonder alot of the old timers dont make there way back.

that sums it up very very well
if you are going to restore/do a car up and keep everyone informed on the progress IF you take a short cut and tape around stickers SOMEONE will pick you up on it when you decide to sell ,also IF you were to cheapskate on the taping up of stickers what OTHER shortcuts have been taken with this car !

Nah it's pretty bad when no matter how many times you're told not to post in a thread you're not interested in the car, and you still do it.

Regardless, the car is going to Houston, and it's being looked over before the money exchanges hands, just like I SAID, but you and your nethirdgen.org tools still feel the need to try and "protect the 3rd gen community". Give me a break, you guys hate this site, don't think for one second I haven't been lurking around on your lame boards reading up on you guys. You're so lame. You guys are bigger ball swingers than anyone else on this site since you feel the need to follow me around everywhere I go. You're like a jealous fan club,

Nahh just some of us will strip the car down to bare metal and do stuff the way it should be done.

Gimme a month or two and I'll show you what I mean.

That's not it man. First off, I apologized to you before for being a complete *******, so I'll try not to be one this time.

Are those who've negatively commented on the car not right in what they've said?.... Were they not the ones to point out the details you had missed?...

They/we may have been harsh, but it's all due to the fact that 95% of all people who come to look at a car, or have one taken to them to see, hate it when they finally see in person the details about the resto that had been left out in the description. If the "guy in Texas" is happy with your car, GREAT. Let it be known that the *******s over at the "lame NEThirdgen.org boards" were the ones to HELP YOU OUT by pointing out the details perspective buyers will be looking at....Guaranteed.

Ohh, and we know damn well you've been lurking boy. We're not as stupid as you look. As far as us "hating" thirdgen.org... It's not that we hate this place, but we hate the way people are afraid to state their opinions on things because of the fear of being retributed. Someone back in '99 (not going to say any names) didn't have the ***** to hold up to most of the hell that broke loose, and this place became a completely one-way comment board. That's the way Dirk wanted to run it, so be it. But it's not representative of how things should be. Yeah, things DID get a little hairy back then and probably too much so, but this **** the NEThirdgen guys are handing you is light-handed in comparison.

Ohh, and get your definition of "ball swinger" right. A ball swinger is a dumb-*** who's got his lips sucked up around someones chuds so tight, that they swing around in each post with a person so much and give him positive comments for everything he does no matter how off kilter the work is. Yesmen suck, literally.

So now for the niceity. Your car really isn't that bad. It's a decent car really. Just not up to par with a complete restoration as claimed. Would I be ashamed to drive it around? Probably not, even though I'm a 'bird guy.

Either way, good luck on the sale, and I hope the buyer knows what to expect, and that you're both happy with the transaction.

Take care.

***MOD EDIT*** Please do not try to go around the filters. Thanks!

Re: 1990 G92 IROC-Z

For all of your misinformation, I'm the one looking at this car for a friend in Houston. Why am I? Here's why:

It's a genuine 1990 IROC with the most coveted color, some fixes, and repainting of the areas that needed it. Is it a perfect repaint? No. Would I be willing to look at a car with a perfect repaint? Not for the price it would pull.

Obviously I'm going to delay final judgment until I see it in person. However, here are a few things that stand out to me on the positive side:
  • Any definite problem (besides the IROC sticker on the door) has either been addressed or will be addressed by BlueZee before I look at the car
  • Both areas of the car that had serious paint pealing and oxidation were stripped to metal and redone. In pictures, the paint looks great. This car will be a Daily Driver, so a complete "restoration" is NOT NEEDED.
  • BlueZee has been honest with me (and us) by stating problems the car has. These include A/C not blowing cold, the tranny having slight grinding at certain times, and the headliner. The A/C and headliner are and have been addressed. The tranny has a new clutch and I'm not that worried about the grinding *only when shifting into reverse when not stopped.
  • This is a 1990 IROC. It's on just about every Camaro owner's wish list. If it's in as good a shape as it looks to be, his price is not too far off.
So ya - I'm going to look at the car. Will I come back and comment on it? Perhaps. The bickering and idiocracy that has gone on in this thread, and his thread with the repaint are absolutely rediculous. How many of you posting are the same people that complain about a $500 hood? How many of you drive around with a car missing paint, in primer, or from Maco? I don't want to know the answers to these questions - so don't post them. What I do know is that BlueZee has put a decent amount of effort into making this 1990 IROC look the way it was meant to look. Get over it. Go find your own beat up IROC, strip it down, and take the next several years to do the picture perfect paint job on it and then give it to a new driver (which this might just in fact go to). /End of Rant.

Re: 1990 G92 IROC-Z

We hear what you're saying.

And once again, many of the areas that you commented on were pointed out by the NE3G arsholes. Yeah, perhaps a bit on the rough side when pointed out, but they WERE pointed out by them.

Am I saying that BlueZee28 wouldn't have let you know if we hadn't?...Nope, I'm not saying that.

I'd rather a seller be critical about his work, and point out the blems personally, rather than have me (or someone else) end up looking at a car and be let down by something not mentioned. Once again, he might have told you, but we did instead. There was just so much praise for the car as if it were immaculate, that SOMEONE needed to let things be known that were noticed. Consider it looking out for others in a "tough love" kind of way I guess.

You're right, you'll have a first-hand look at the car when you see it. And, if it's what you want, great! I hope you both are happy with how the meeting works out, and it's what you expect it to be.

.
I am critical about the car. I wish I had time and money to do a "rotisserie" restoration, but I don't, I have student loans, credit car bills, insurance, phone bill, heck I'm hardly making it by and I don't even pay my parents rent to live in the house. This car was fixed on a budget, and I have explained to Jon what the car needs to there are no suprises when he sees the car in person. I wish some people would let THE SELLER do the explaining, people who have never seen the car in person shouldn't be making critical remarks about it.

When Jon comes up to check out the car, he's not going to get any suprises, the car drives like a champ, (show me ONE mechanically sound 3rd gen on here that isn't at least $4,000 in itself), and it is a decent looker, and it's rare. If you guys know anything about 3rd gens, then you know that my price isn't off. Get over it.

/Rant.
