mine is setup for a 3.23 gear (thats what was in it and was working fine) its in the tranny right now. with out the cable hooked up. as for the tabs to hold it in place i believe ide need them to switch from mechanical to electronic

The electronic unit is molded with the tab built into the body (at least the one on my 92 T5 is) - I can send you a pic to show you what I mean. You should only need the small bolt and not the tab to mount it.
