Re: Grey Bose kick panels
The Bose kick panels come with a small, slim paper cone speaker and a built in amp. Most modern decks will put out more power than the stock amp in these kicks. The kicks can, however, be modified to accept small, 4" or so, aftermarket speakers.

Re: Grey Bose kick panels
I know these are already sold, but were these part of the premium sound package (UQ7)? What size speakers were in them?

Re: Grey Bose kick panels
they are from the camaros that had the delco bose sound system in them. the speakers are a very thin obscure size so its kinda pointless to use them for anything but the bose setup. the rear used a panel that went over the well in the back and had 2 speakers in it also..

Re: Grey Bose kick panels
Not to hijack, just to help educate but...the bose option in the camaro put speakers in the kick panels in the front, with two subs in the back cargo cover. From my understanding they still used the dash 4X6s but did not use the 6X9s in the rear seat. I believe this to be true as i've sold two sets of the 6X9 brackets to people whom own bose equipped camaros that stated there was no speaker there. The stereo's themselves produces a low signal designed very much like a pre-amp output, and the amps took the low signal and boosted (amplified) them for the speakers. That is why the above units can't be used like regular speakers unless you remove the amp.
As far as the UQ7, that was a Firebird option i believe 86+, and that had the stock 4X6 in the dash, and a special box fitted into the 6X9 opening by the rear seats that housed roughly a 5 1/4" sub and a 4X6 two way speaker in each assembly, not to mention a switch to control the bass system in the front driver area. Not sure of these stereo systems, but i beleive that they were normal stereos that didn't send any special signals. So there was a total of 6 speakers in the foward cabin position, whereas the camaro bose option put speakers in every square inch of the car.
