'90 L98 5.7 350

need to unload this engine before i move beginning of aug at the latest. Its a L98 out of a 1990 iroc. c ar itself had 89k miles on it when i pulled the engine. but the engine had already been rebuilt a year or so ago. and has been sitting covered until it got hit. thats when i bought the car, and decided to part it out.

I have a video of it running before i pulled it, but cant seem to get it to transfer to the computer. I'll keep trying.

anyhow. It will come with the entire front serp setup with ac compressor, which worked perfectly when i drove the car. have plug ac delco plug wires. i have the complete engine harness, the ecu, just about everything you'll need to drop it in and go.

the only thing it will need to run is a new cap and coil. i bumped them when pulling the engine.

I have a bunch of other parts that could be sold seperately, air intake, filter box, ducts...

asking $900 for the setup.

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

Well, my 305 just cracked and blew the head gasket, so I'm very interested if you are still selling the whole setup. I'll need everything from the block, intake, computer, harness, etc etc. I do have all the serpentine parts though, so I don't need those.

Still for sale?

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

engine is available. was just going to repost it on craigslist tonight. would like some money toards a 2010 down payment.

I've got it all front to back top to bottom, harness computer, spark plug wires... even acdelco plugs. everything on this engine was new before it was removed. will need to reuse your cap and rotor, and coil. their on the car, but cracked from removal.

also, no fuel pump. sorry. i left the tank in the car when i sent it to the crusher.

will add pics when their done uploading

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

not sure what all they are going to need to do. but all i can do is put it where they want it. will they be putting it into a crate? ive got the cherry picker still so i can move it where it needs to go. it would have to be paid for and cleared before anyone tries to pick it up.

let me know what you want to do. im sure there are places out there who do this everyday

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

Of course, will definitely be fully paid for before pick up :-)

I will call around to some shipping carriers tomorrow (if they are open), otherwise I'll call around on Monday, and let you know Monday about shipping details.

Were you ever able to get that video of the engine running?

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

as far as im aware of. it just needs the cap and rotor fixed and the coil. I only drove it for about 10 miles home after fixing the suspension on the car. then moved it around the drive a bunch of times. i think either the battery i had was on the outs or the starter was acting funny here and there.

Ill see if i can get the video going this weekend.

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

I checked the freight carrier website, it says block has to be in a crate or strapped to a pallate and dry ( no dripping fluids ). I can pay for all shipping materials, just include in your final price.

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

oh, and yes, I am actually going from carbed 305 to this, except that the wiring and computer in my car is for a TBI (apparently the car has done the engine swap in the past ). So I'll need pretty much everything.

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

sweet. Glad everything worked out. I never got a chance to see how strong the motor was, the rear end was toast. How does it feel? the 91 Z i just sold had the L98, and was amazingly strong. they are torque monsters and mustang killers. have any pics of the car/engine install?

Re: '90 L98 5.7 350

I'll get some pics of the install this weekend - it torques like a beast, although my transmission (700r4) doesn't allow the engine above about 3100 before it forces the shift, so I'm getting a shift kit (governer spring/weight deal) to hopefully fix that. but manually shifting it gives me awesome power. Its clean, runs great, and the mechanic I had drop it in and hook it up says it looks very good.
