Do notchbacks use a different hatch strut?

Ive searched the threads here, and I went to a couple local auto parts stores and no one is listing them. It basically says with or without spoiler.

No, notchbacks use different struts.

Re: Do notchbacks use a different hatch strut?

Notchbacks do use a different strut. The notchback strut is longer and the ends are different. Good luck trying to find them.

I use a standard firebird strut mounted upside down, with some Ace Hardware shoulder bolts. It might not be factory perfect, but I like spending $30 instead of $80 per strut.

Did you bolt the shoulder bolts into the fiberglass hatch, and remove the old mounting points on the hatch?

All the mounting hardware was already removed by the PO. 75% of ALL interior hardware was removed by the PO.
