Can you imagine what would happen if it broke at 60 mph.

That's enough, but it had to be said. As it is not just the Driver, but "always" taking others on the road into consideration. There safety first.

Re: Would you run this
A guy at a shop told you it would be ok and the smart thing to do is bring it here. That's what this sites for.
I have a problem with so called mechanics around here.
When I hear that kind of advise it just ticks me off. Sorry

Re: Would you run this
can you imagine what the mechanic has seen over his years of turning wrenches....(if he is a older guy) and some of it was prob working when the customers brought stuff into the shop...... Maybe he turned them and the crack was there when it cleaned up so he felt bad charging for a resurface and just said run it... Hell,It might even of lasted...... But for a car that, chances are that you dont drive like a old grandma. So the brakes get used a lot more/heat, expansion, retraction 100x then failure. I'm not standing up for the guy, but there are some old timers out there that have been turning wrenches for long time and have seen some crazy messed up stuff... and it was still working...I used to fix semi trailers and 90% of the time the drums were cracked.. yes i replaced them but how long were they cracked for..... however for the cost of a new drum.... Thats why I never turn anything... maybe a rotor if it is really nice or if new ones are expensive.. otherwise I buy new... Like putting old pads/shoes on... heh
