1983 Z28 T-Tops Very Clean Car
Due to honesty and integrity I am editing this post and reducing the price because of new information I just found out about the car. This was my cousins car and he passed away last year so information has been sparse at best. I had been going on what I was told prior to his passing but I have finally tracked down many of the vehicles service records (from 5/7/2003 to date), including the engine swap.
First if you run a car fax report on this car it shows a "possible mileage rollover" and a few "mileage discrepancies". This is due to the dealership not entering the mileage into their system correctly and dropping the "1" on the front of the reading because the car only has a 5 digit odometer. There is no way for me to easily fix this report.
This is still a very clean, well maintained car with very few flaws. It has fresh paint and reupholstered interior. The windows are tinted and the T-tops work well. There is a nice stereo system with an Alpine deck and two Alpine amplifiers and a subwoofer. The engine has been completely replaced by dealership with a 290hp/350ci crate engine and all smog and emissions equipment has been removed but the car has not been cut up or modified otherwise. The AC pump and plumbing is still there, it just has no belt on it. I have no idea if it works. It has a 280 comp cam and a bowtie chevy aluminum intake with a new (not rebuilt) carb. The headers are ceramic coated with all new dual exhaust running out to the rear bumper. There is a full 3" exhaust installed. The transmission was rebuilt at the same time as the motor replacement and has a nice positive crisp shift kit installed. The rear end has been completely rebuilt with new 3:73 gears, new axles and all new bearings. This car has 185K miles on it (previously listed as 85K) though you would never know it, and has 15K on the engine, trans and exhaust and rear end. All work and service has been dealer performed since new and all maintenance items have been kept up. We have all service records from 5/7/2003 on. It runs, drives and stops like it did when new or better. It has been in the family since new and always garaged.
Hagerty has this vehicle valued at $10,230.00 for good condition including the T-Top upgrade. Even though this car is better than stock and in incredible shape, it is not stock so I am not asking anywhere near the Hagerty valuation since the engine has been changed. This is a solid, clean and great driving car so a great deal at the NEW LOWER PRICE of $7,500.00 firm.
Seller will not ship. Local pickup only please. Buyer can send a freight truck to pick up if wanted. There is easy street access for any size truck.

Re: 1983 Z28 T-Tops Very Clean Car
Really? Absolutely no interest in an exceptionally clean car like this? Any suggestions from anyone to get it sold besides the obvious "lower the price" answer? This car is worth every bit of the asking price but reasonable offers will be entertained. We would really like to move this car to a new owner soon.

Re: 1983 Z28 T-Tops Very Clean Car
There area lot of lower mileage unmodified cars out there for the asking price range. I think some folks probably want to do their own modifications vs buying a modified car. Also, the 82-84 are not as popular as 85 and later. I have no ideas how to move the car, other than wait for the right buyer. Also, check out your local market on craigslist, etc. and see what they go far, stock and modified. I like my 84 a lot, but know that whenever it comes time to sell, it will not bring what i have into it even restoring with stock parts.
