None, your amp will deliver 50W X 2 Peak power, same as your Head unit

you mean running a seperate amp instead of the one in the deck will make no difference at all even though it is an external amp and is running right from the battery?

Thats right, if it was a higher rated amp, it would make a difference. But they are both rated at 50wX2 (50 Watts Into Each Channel)

IF that is true (which i'm not in a position to say it is or isn't) then who's to say the amp might be rated at 50 watts x2 and is actually puching 35 x2 ??? huh ???

the alternator does not send enough power to the head to give it full power for the internal amp

would this happen to a amp connected directely to the battery

Hook it up,listen to it,and judge for yourself. The external amp is going to have a much larger pwm power supply, transistors, caps, etc. You will have more sonic headroom with the ext. amp than with the deck. Also,is that amp 100w max or 100wrms? The deck is only going to be 50watt max per ch. I can gaurantee that even if the max power rating is the same for both, the amp will have a better continuous rating and better transistors for faster switching speeds and cleaner sound once you start cranking it up(provided that it is a good amp).
