Junkyard verts

Recently walked through Camaro Heaven in Tilton, NH. Lots of third gen Camaros, 3 convertibles in various states of being picked apart....sad site.

Would recommend checking the place out if you are in the area.

Re: Junkyard verts

I remember when I first bought my 87 Formula, I was in Anderson, IN, and there was this junkyard, and a sister yard in Spiceland, IN. I cannot remember the name of them, but both of them had at least 40 3rd gens in various levels of pieces. Virtually Any part you ever wanted. When I got my car it was pretty rough (paid $1100) and I was able to get like new tail lights, like new dash pads ($30) overhead consoles, center console arm rests, door panels, everything and things were really reasonable. Now walking through a junkyard if I spot a half dozen it was an amazing day, and that would be after visiting 6 yards.

Re: Junkyard verts

Yeah the yards here in Phoenix I frequent rarely have third gens. Some guy on here posted about a yard that had a lot of them so I went there this past week and counted 5, one of which was a decent berlinetta which I never see.

Last time I was up at Camaro Heaven was around 1999 getting parts for my buddies car. They didn't allow you to walk around the cars they were taking apart.

But looking at google maps they have moved since then. Last time I was there they were in a old mill type building near a river I believe.

Looking at the new yard looks like it might be a intersting trip.

Are you allowed to pull parts off the cars or do they do it?

Re: Junkyard verts

In the past 6 months, at all of the pick a parts across southern California, I have seen an 89 firebird convertible, a 90 iroc conv, an 89 iroc conv and a 91 rs conv. They were extremely picked apart however and none of them had been in the yard for more than 2 weeks before I saw them...third gens in general are a dying breed at the junkyards nowadays...

Re: Junkyard verts

If you run across any 87-89 Firebird verts, I am taking VIN numbers... Write them down for me... Thanks.

Re: Junkyard verts

If you can, I simply want the VIN, the model, GTA, Trans Am, Formula, Firebird, and the colors of the interior and exterior, maybe top color if it is there.

Thanks
