So what makes this '89 IROC-Z so cool?
Low miles, '89 IROC, peanut cammed LB9, single cat exhaust, 2.73 posi, rear drums, base 15x7" IROC wheels. Nice car, other than the paint needing a big detail, this car is a real creampuff.
But what makes it so cool? It's wearing the repro 225/60/16 Gatorbacks that were brought back for the Mustang. So nice to see NEW Gatorbacks on a 3rd gen, even if they weren't the factory size.

BTW, the rest of the car is really nice as well, if you go through the dozens of photos in the listing, this car is fairly representative of how dealer ordered IROC-Zs were equipped back in the day.

Supposedly they've been working on a 245/50/16 version for the 3rd gen, but no word on it's release.

Apparently Kelsey is doing another run of the 225/60/15 Gatorbacks in a couple of weeks. Nothing on the 245/50/16s.

I'd be in for 2 sets right now as well. I have no idea why they just don't release them. They've had the 245/50/16 size in the pipeline for years. And I'm pretty confident they'd sell more of those to us, than they have the 225/60/15s to Mustang guys.

Re: So what makes this '89 IROC-Z so cool?
I spoke to smallhurst from this thread several years ago. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...l-offered.html
Back then, he said they were looking for original tires to use as patterns and I told him that I had a 10K mile set off my '89 sitting in my attic. I believe that they have since sourced some original tires to use as patterns. I have no idea what the delay is about. I certainly don't know why they'd come out with a 225/60/15 version and 3+ years later not have them in our size.
