It's a fairly safe bet that it will cause some misfire issues.

Changing the plug can't hurt, but it really sounds like you need to check the wires, not the plugs.

Still sounds like a firing issue, what kind of plugs are you using? Hope to G0D its not splitfires. Also be sure and check the gap, should have.035
Keep us posted.

As was said check all the plug wires, check to be sure they are on the correct places on the cap, be sure plugs are good and gapped properly, be sure there is no carbon build up in the cap or rotor, if it stll happens get the ignition module tested.

I would get rid of the platinum 4 plugs. They cause excessive heat , and I'm speaking from experince on thsi one. I suggest get the cheap AC Delco, what GM advises you put in there. I understand you paid $5 a plug, but take it as a lesson learned.

Just pull the ignition module out and take it to O`Reilly`s or Advance auto and they will test it for free.

I still sugest getting rid of the Platinum plugs. I went ahead and bought 6 plugs for my old sixbanger, the temp stayed constantly around 210-220. After takling to a few mechanics I was advised on removing them before I do serious damage. My best advise is do a complete tune up. However I'm willing to bet its your plugs.

You're running temp is fine and the plugs, now that you've been boned, should be fine so long as you don't run an MSD or something similar. Will they impede the flame front a bit, sure. Will you notice it. No.

IF you decide to pull that module though, do get the proper compound for it upon intall, iirc SL203 is the wells part number. Thermal heatsink compound. If you can't find that you can go to staples or some such and overpay for the computer stuff.
