85 Camaro

I have an 85 Camaro which is running like crap. I have a dead spot in my throttle, at a steady speed it lurches a bit and I don't have much horsepower. I have replaced my plugs and wires and also the throttle position sensor. I also have had my husband check my timing, its ok. What the hell do I check now???

fuel filter can cause this..cloggy filter..= crappy power, start with the simple work your way up...
seen the MAF sensor mentioned a few times..

if u shift the car manually (assuming its automatic) do u still lack power? yanno start off in 1st..then move to 2nd , 3rd .....

Re: 85 Camaro

also..check your fuel injectors..watch it as it runs..it should be spraying nice and not dripping..check for fuel leaks around the injectors..

so many things it can be..

would help many of us on the forums if u give more info about the car
engine size TBI/TPI?..etc etc

Re: 85 Camaro

yes and now I have cleaned the MAS. Which seems to have made it run a little better, but not the way it was.

Re: 85 Camaro

U said it's weird that the SES light doesn't come on, but I'll assume it does work when you have the key in "run" like it should. U might want to do the check for codes anyway. There's a way to do it without OBD tool by having the SES blink codes to you.
Sent u a PM with a diagnostic chart.
