Re: 2.8 to 5.7
It's definitely possible. BUT. The 5.7 will fit just fine, may have to change the motor mounts. Other considerations: transmission, drive shaft, fuel pump, fuel lines, vacuum for brake booster. Many more things, but just a few things off the top of my head. Try a search for this conversion. I guarantee someone has written a post about it.

Re: 2.8 to 5.7
Transmission should have a different bellhousing pattern but the driveshaft length doesn't change so the driveshaft doesn't need to be replaced.
It would be a lot easier to find a third gen donor car that has/had a V8 to get everything required for the swap.

Forget "Cadillac". That's just the stickers on the sheet metal.
It's the same as any other small block Chevrolet swap. (it's a Chevy 350)
Visit the Engine Swap forum and read all the stickies and the millions of posts from other people about the exact same swap before asking questions; there's a VAST amount of information sitting there waiting for you already. Much better to learn what people have already documented for you, than the way "some" people (mostly the real "entitled" ones) DEMAND to be spoon-fed.
