TPI will not hold idle

91z28 super ram 355 with cam and headers. Will not hold idle. I even have to give it a little trottle to start and restart after it dies. I reset the iac and has a new iac and tps. Any ideas of what to do ?

Did you set minimum idle speed?

Re: TPI will not hold idle

Verify that you do not have any vacuum leaks, super ram's are notorious for sealing issues..

Re: TPI will not hold idle

No vacuum leaks that I can find and still will only start if I give it a lot of gas from the pedal. Timing was reset and tps voltages and position match on the scanner. Idk what next ?

Re: TPI will not hold idle

Was it running well, and just started giving problems, or have you recently installed something, and the problem began after that?

Nothing has been changed recently. Just been sitting because I cannot figure out the issue. Also dies when you put it in gear

Re: TPI will not hold idle

I read in another post that the ecm requires a input when shifting into gear so it might be one of the problems. I do have a megashifter on my 700r4

I verified the ecm is getting an input when put in gear but still stalls.

Re: TPI will not hold idle

Are you re-adjusting the TPS to specs after you've set the IAC minimum air?

Have you checked fuel pressure? Changed fuel filter?

Re: TPI will not hold idle

So just a recap. Stalls in when going into gear and will not start without laying into the throttle.

So far I have reset iac multiple times.
Reset timing.
Swapped in three different ecms
reuploaded my bin to my ostrich
swapped out tps twice.
Checked fuel pressure and flow
gotta be something stupid here

Maybe get a smoke blower to test for leaks?

Yup, sounds like you have a vac leak somewhere.

Re: TPI will not hold idle

Picked up a smoke machine and I do have a leak at the rear passanger runner. Trying to decide if I even want to put the superram back on.
