T5/700R4 cross member the same?

Do the cars with T5s share the same cross member as the cars with the 700R4s?

Not knowing which car you have, let me add that a V6 t5 crossmember is different, but the regular crossmember works fine in its place

Re: T5/700R4 cross member the same?

I have a 1992 V6 with the 5 speed manual. The W/C T5 I believe. The trans cross member is trash and I need to source a new one. Will the cross member for the 700R4 cars work or do I have to hunt down one specifically for my car? There aren't a lot of these in junk yard around my area.

You can use the the other mount and crossmember from the v8 cars. No difference. I started a thread on the v6 board about how terrible that fluid filled mount is, and the swap to the normal one

The cross members are the same, the mounts are different. For more info:

Re: T5/700R4 cross member the same?

When I swapped to a traditional crossmember, I was told that either mount from the 350 auto or the 305 t5 would work with my v6 t5. I went with the t5 mount just to be safe.

By the way, tried the poly mount and hated it. It caused too much vibration to be transferred to the body of the car.

+2 on that. Just for general info on poly vs OE mounts:
