buying 700r4 to handle 430hp 450tq
Can anyone recommend a good 700r4 and a 2800 torque converter to back up this motor I just bought: http://www.blueprintengines.com/inde...ecs-bp38313ct1
price isn't really a issue when going for quality but what is my best bang for my buck.

I hope that'll give you an idea of what one would cost at least, less the labor included for one that is said to be able to handle beyond 500 (according to the shop).

Well that price sounds fair for rebuild and install but I'm in Kansas and will install the transmission myself. Just wondering if anyone has a tranny site that they would recommend Ive looked up a few and just want to see what the community here has to suggest. https://www.700r4l60e.com/ was suggested after looking on there https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/home.php?cat=20
i see they have 87 and up and 88 and up. i have a 87 gta, i don't think it matters on the year but there is only one 87 and up tranny there. thoughts?

I'm unsure about anything on ebay, this almost seems to good to be true. converter plus "700hp" tranny i wonder how much torque it can handle.
You guys have any thoughts on this?

Another question I have is about TCC lockup. I installed holley stealth ram and holleys wiring harness/computer for it. Will my Torque converter still lock up normally? I still have the stock computer hooked up but I have hacked away at pretty much anything I didn't need dealing with TPI leaving the important stuff. From what Ive read, it should still work normally just wanting to double check.

I cannot attest to where you can find one online, but for your researching (best bang for your buck purposes) I just paid $3500 for a 700R4 + a stall converter, completely removed, rebuilt and installed by a local hot rod shop. (Kilpatrick Engine & Transmission) Waukesha, WI. I also cannot say what HP#'s my car has because I don't know, but for what my car did with a slipping transmission (11.9 @ 117) my engine hp is probably around the 500 + mark.
I hope that'll give you an idea of what one would cost at least, less the labor included for one that is said to be able to handle beyond 500 (according to the shop).

my 87 406 formula ran 12.20's on street tires through the mufflers with the 700 I built for it...
