Anywayz still need to buy a crank and get the machine work done. Now it would cost me 125 bux to get the block 0 decked. Standard stroke is 3.75

Now i know they make 3.8" stroke 400 cranks and i remember hearing something somewhere that if you get a 3.8" stroke 400 crank it would be like 0 decking your block just because of the increase length in stroke. Now i wanted to know if that is true or not. Would save me 125 dollars. But then again will there be clearanceing issues with the 3.8" stroke crank (block wise). If not ill for sure do that, gain some extra cubes while im at it. Lemme know fellas thanks.

Yes, that is just about right to self zero-deck the assembly, if used with 3.75" spec'ed parts. You still need to check it though, to avoid potential embarrassing collisions.

Clearance shouldn't be a problem. You're only increasing the rotating assy radius, i.e. decreasing the clearance, by .025".... about the thickness of 2 business cards, at most.

So no block clearancing will be needed? .040" head gasket and i got my quench all correct. This sounds too good to be true.

standard deck height is 9.025 right? Anywayz lets say its 9.025 like i think. 3.75 to 3.8 is .05" increase making the deck heigh 9.02 not 9.00 like i would want.

Now seeing how that seems to work, clearance wise how would the block/cam hold up to the little extra stroke. Do i have to do any clearanceing? Scat H Beam Rods supposed to be good to 3.875" Stroke so im not worried about them hitting the cam or anything like that. Pistons say they are for a 3.75" stroke does it even matter ? Should this all work out good fellas? Let me know your input. Also whats the optimum optimum quench? Was gonna get a .040" head gasket but i could always get .039" or .041" or is it just a personal preference.

Also what do you guys think about her runnin on 91 octane gas? (most here in cali from the pump)

Static Compression comes out to 11.41 : 1 with 76cc heads (aluminum, AFRs) 4cc Domed Piston, .040" Head Gasket Thickness, 4.2" Head Gasket Bore, 4.155" Bore, 0 Deck Height, and a 3.8" Stroke.

Dynamic Compression comes out to 9.75 : 1 with a 6" Rod, 3.8" Stroke and an Intake Closing Point ABDC of 55

Now if somebody wants to calculate the dynamic compression again for me that would be kool cuz it was kinda confusing. It said intake closing point @.050 abdc plus 15 degrees...i just put 55. Anywayz thanks for the help fellas.

so nobody has told me if it should clear yet or not 2 buisness cards might be 2 buisness cards too many

I can only tell that if had used the stock 350 with my rotating assembly I would have had clearance issues with the cam, and block.
I don't know what the differences are between a 350 & a 400.

I use a 3.832 stroke in a 400 block, the only clearence issue I had was with the oil pan, Rod bolts with kit I got where already clearenced. You may also want to make sure you have clearence with that cam, you may need to run a small base circle cam with either stroker cranks

exactly what i wanted to hear thanks a ton. H beams should clear the cam so thanks everybody. 3.8" stroke it is, ill keep yawll updated.
