IMCO muffler on ebay
I was on ebay today looking at exhaust setups for sale and came across an ebay store that sold the "rear section".. muffler and two tailpipes.. its put out by a company called IMCO and in the add it states that its "like a flowmaster".. judging from the picture they have it looks just like a flowmaster but for the muffler and both tailpipes is only 55.00 NEW.. which is a far cry cheaper than the flowmaster muffler alone.. I was just curious if you guys new anything at all about this muffler and how much it is like a flowmaster and any other detail you can give me about the muffler.. thanks in advance

Looks like a Flowmaster imitation to me, probably not too bad for the cost considering you get the other pipes too, but you never know with these things. However the pipes just look a few pieces pieced together to make the shape right with LOW grade pipe pieces. This must be the auction you're referring too; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
Dunno man, it's a gamble

I would also assume the tailpipes are of low grade quality.. Our local shop (Quality Exhaust) uses the premade imco piping at their shop which only comes with a 1 year warranty, they also offer another brand which has a 3 year warranty, I dont have much interest in the pipes, just the muffler.. I agree it "looks" EXACTLY like a flowmaster, even the dimensions appear to be the same, I have emailed the seller asking questions about the internals of the muffler, if it in fact uses the same "baffle" design as the flowmaster and not just woven fiber packing I beleive I will purchase it and after I install it I will post a new topic to let you guys know the outcome.. So if i do get burnt at least it will only be 55 bucks and you hopefully i can save someone else from getting burt
Thanks for the reply and anyone else please add your 2 cents also

I got an IMCO muffler on my car. For the cost it looks pretty good and flow's amazingly.
383ci, 1 3/4SLP's, dual cat's with the IMCO and my only complaint is its a little to raspy for me.
My friend has a 406 in his 87 Formula with hooker long tube's and the IMCO muffler, I know when ever he drives by the house its got a very unique sound that stands out. I still personaly feel its abit to raspy but alot of peeps like that sound, he luv's it.
I much prefer the sound of the Edelbrock RPM muffler thats on the 96LT1.

Had a pair of Imco mufflers on a V8 S10 pickup. Really nice sound, deep and mellow, pretty loud still. Sounded perfect on the truck.
