anyone using Derale trans pan from summit? how is it , how do you like it?

I've had one since I had the trans built 3 years ago. So far, so good. I don't have a trans temp guage, so I can't tell for sure if it keeps it cooler or not, but it's not hurting anything.

Good fit & finish, mine had nice, clean welds around all the 'cooler' tubes, and whatever finish they put on it is still pretty shiny.

As far as ground clearance, it doesn't really hang down much, not as low as the crossmember, so i've never bottomed it out. (And I have put some dents in my stock engine oil pan)

Plus, it's pretty cool to look at when you're under there.

I run the Derale pan. It has the fins but the best feature is the added capacity, it hold two full qts extra than a stock pan. It cuts down on ground clearance though. However I dont care BC my Hooker SuperComp longtubes hang lower, so I gotta baby it anyway.

As for an actuall cooling gain, I think that would be hard to measure. Not a big concern for me though as I also have a huge B&M Supercooler also, 28,000GVW.

Overall the fit and finish is excellent, heavy gauge steel, drain plug, etc...

when I worked at Aamco we were forever having to swap ot those tube vented pans due to leaks around the tubes.

Looking at the welds in my pan I dont see them ever leaking at any time in the future. We are talking a serious bead here.

Plus the fact that it is installed and doesnt leak now.

now that I think of it, might have beenan old trans dapt pan or something. It was thin metal

i had heard of leaks to but didn't know if it was these pans . they look good in the pics

do those cooler holes ever get alot of junk in them and clog up?
