Third Gen Resource experience

I had been reading about some of the bad experiences people haved had with Third Gen Resource and I was a little nervous about ordering some parts I needed. Despite what I had read, I went ahead and ordered the parts I needed on Monday afternoon(11/10). Roy took my order and said that he had the parts in stock and that he would get them right out to me. I'm happy to report that my parts arrived Saturday afternoon (11/15). I very pleased with the service that I received and the timely manner in which the parts were delivered. Just thought I would post my experience.

I have never placed an order with them personally, but I've heard an amazing amount of bad experiences others have had with Third Gen Resource as well. I figured he had to have made more legitimate deals than sour ones or he would have been out of business long ago.

Glad to hear your transaction went well!

they owe me 20 bucks, and it took 8 + weeks to get my ram air 1 ASCD hood which is basically crap to me, been sitting in the garage for months now.

other than that my slp full exhaust came quickly and everything on that order was right.

stacy replied to me on thanksgiving when asking about the Ronal R15s. or the day after or before or soemthing. i counted on hearing from someone by today, maybe, but she got back to me within a day or so.

now, my friend called them and asked about the wheels and was told they were busy moving and could he call back next Monday, by some guy...

now that would bother me, a little. i can understand moving and being busy and such, but still. telling a customer who wants to shell out a grand to call back later....granted, they also said they had to call the factory (or something) and see about getting a set, when stacy said they had a limited quantity available...

i don't know. seems too risky, but we'll see. i've gotten stuff from someone on ebay with several negative feedbacks, and everyone always mentions the bad, the good is usually never mentioned, and if it is, swiftly forgotten.....i want those wheels, though, and they have the best price...

I also just had a bad experience with 3rd gen resource. I ordered 2 irocz rocker panel emblems and a front bumper emblem from them. They said they were moving so it might take a while. that is understandable and not a problem since I don't drive it in the winter. The problem started when I recieved the order.
1. the front bumper emblem was for the wrong year, minor I could live with this
2. the parts I really needed they shorted on my order, but they just shipped it out without calling me to see how I wanted to
proceed. I would have canceled it.
3. they charged my credit card $60.00 when the invoice said $27.99 total.
I called and spoke to Roy (he said he was the owner) after I told him about the problems he said he would arrange for a pickup of the part and issue a full refund, but that he didn't understand why I was upset. It's been a week and no call to set up a pickup. Also the have changed there name to F-body motor sports, don't be fooled.

I have dealt with them alot and never had an issue, and yes the name is changing only because they are dealing with more 4th gen stuff now too... so f-body motorsports fits more... they aren't changing it because they are being shady. Not saying they are perfect in the way they do things but its funny that the same 8-10 people jump in on every post about things. I have spent about 2g's with them and never had an issue!!

I did not refer to anyone as shady. To me shady is an area that does not recieve sunlight. What I did do was describe my experience with third gen resource. I have never posted anything about them before, so it is not the same 8 -10 people. I want to let other members know that if they have made a decision not to work with third gen resource that the same people are running f-body motorsports. I would invite you to read both current threads on third gen resource and the thread on hawks and make your own decision where to spend your money
