Just look at what kind of feedback they have recieved from thier buyers.(the number by thier user ID)It will tell you exactly what kind of person they are. If there is alot of negative feedback, pass them up and look else where....

I've used Ebay a number of times. You just have to be sure exactly what you are buying. I have bought junk before and it was my fault for not looking carefully. Be sure to use a thirdparty like Paypal to handle money transactions. And, like JT said, check the feedback.

I buy and sell on eBay. It's buyer beware though. Make sure you know exactly what you're getting via pictures, etc... I've never been screwed on eBay either. They have a pretty good reputation, but make sure of the feedback of the person you're going to deal with.

Some businesses even deal on eBay; I bought a very nice stud girdle from a dealer there. It's a good way to pick up parts cheaper.

No, that's crap. That's probably a stupid rumor. I've bought SO much stuff of ebay. They are good. And if they don't send you the item, you can go as far as getting a lawyer. It's safe and sound. You won't get burned. If you do, ebay has the other person's credit card, name and everything. Go ahead and buy. I've never got burned once. Feedback is around 400. JUST MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SELLERS FEEDBACK.

I bought headers from a guy on ebay a couple weeks ago. They appear to be just like he said--used a couple times for dyno testing. I haven't put them on yet, but I got the exhaust manifolds off last night, and it looks like they fit. He said he was sure they were for my car, but if they didn't fit, then send them back and he'd refund my money. I think they'll fit, though. Got them for $125 including shipping from NJ.

Being a wheelchair user myself, I find your use of the word "cripple" insulting.

It shouldn't (and doesn't) shock me that you can't spell the words HEARD or BUY or PATIO.

But to stay on topic, NH Camaro - I have bought and sold on Ebay. You must be careful and ask questions before you bid and only buy from those with good ratings.

I have purchased and sold quite a bit on e-bay. I would look out for two people. The first is Jake Kolar from Potsdam, New York. THIS GUY IS A CROOK. He burned me about 6 months ago for $13.00 (no big deal - finally sent products after e-bay got on him). He is burning me now for $125.00. He changed his e-bay name and the feedback (from being a crook) did not follow. All I can say is stay away from him.

I also had some problems with tommygun from NJ. I bought some T/A seats which he said he did not check. When I received them the seat hinge was broken. This is not a checking thing, it was very noticeable, even without checking. I just make sure I do not buy from him anymore.

No other problems in the past 3 years. Like someone said above "I bought the Iroc there" I have also purchased a Lincoln Mark VII and and Lincoln Continental from e-bay. As with anything "BE CAREFUL!!!" but I would not worry too much about buying from e-bay. Good Luck

Did somebody say Jake Kolar??!? Would this guy happen to be jjautorepair?? And the email addy is "biggrig82@hotmail.com"? I have waited almost 5 weeks for a set of door panels from this guy, they were $26.00 at the end of the auction...I emailed him a zillion times..trying to be nice about it...but he never replied to my emails... he sent two emails giving me some excuses about this and that...can't say they are true or not. Anyway last night was the last straw. I never heard anything back from him so I am in the process of filing a Fraud Report.

I mean who would try and screw somebody out of $26??? It camne to $51 with the shipping.

But to answer the quesiton that was asked.

I recommend eBay 110%! .. I have bought lots of stuff on eBay for my 87 Iroc..somethings like trim pieces, air foil, etc etc... I have sold stuff on eBay as well with no problems.

Feedback is key though...check out the sellers feedback and see what others have said about them. The only tricky part is when the seller has limited or no feedback, this is when you take a chance on buying items. I took a chance on my auction with JJAUTOREPAIR because he had a "0" rating, hey sellers have to start out somewhere right..So I won the door panels plus top plastic piece for only $26 US.. this was a great deal. But in the end I had to file a Fraud Report because it is 5 weeks and still no panels and what's worse is there is still no email/communications with him. The panels could have been shipped or not..who knows...and if he doesn't reply within 30 days I will file an insurance claim.. which I will only get my $26 auction price back (sucks really because I paid $25 shipping up front).

So after all that... eBay!! Recommended by me!!

I've purchased several Thirdgen related parts through eBay. Only burned once. An illustrated parts catalog didn't show. Unfortunately I didn't buy insurance, so I was out the $. The seller in this instance wasn't very communicative. I left neutral feedback regarding that transaction. Now I'm just waiting for the latest two items I bought to arrive.

Yep, thats the crook. jjautorepair. He had a different name and ended up with some very bad feedback rating from screwing people before. I didn't see it was JAKE KOLAR - punk crook, until after I paid with billpoint. I am going to call the Potsdam police on him again and make them aware they have a criminal in their midst. Last time I was getting ready to call the dean of the college he attends when he finally ponied up my $16. He got me for $125 this time. Thats enough to really get me mad. Maybe we will see how much damage a baseball bat can do for $125. It's worth a weekend trip to New York - seems like FUN!!!

Damn! I was afraid of that... live and learn I suppose...he got me for $51 in total! If you go to New York add my $51 to the total

I have a Fraud Report going with eBay now and I will be putting in my insurance claim in 7 days...

Arrghhh!!!

Is it that he just don't have the parts or got them and won't ship them? I have seen other feedback on his new jjautorepair login and it seems that some people got good results from him.

I suggest anyone who has been ripped off by Jake Kolar to call the Potsdam NY Police Department at (315) 265-2121. I spoke with Officer Kelley and he said he will arrest this crook. Please call Officer Kelley or Officer Tischler as they are the ones investigating this matter. Right now it is considered petty larceny, but if he has stolen enough money from people it may be a felony. Just so everyone knows, it is not about the money. He stole $125 from me. I am willing to spend much more than that to prosecute him, and Jake, if your lurking, I mean business!!!! I told you not to screw me over!!!!

PAYPAL SUCKS...my brother bought a computer and used paypal and the computer cost $400. Paypal claims no responability and we had to bring it to the police and there is a detective working on it....it has been 2 months and nothing yet....but the guy is trying because he calls us and tell what he has found....this guy had cheated many people and no one has done anything....Just make sure the person has LOTS of good feedback.
