Holley stealth ram oil leak

Car: 87 iroc
Engine: 5.7 ZZ4, AFR, Stealth Ram, Comp cam
Transmission: 1993 T56 viper internals w Spec3+
Axle/Gears: moser 9" truetrac 3:89
Holley stealth ram oil leak
Has any one ever had a problem with the stealthram not sealing on the back bridge near the distributor more so on the right side leaking oil. I have resealed the Intake twice with a thick bead of sealer it still leaks. Other than that I love the performance of this Intake.

Never had the leak there. I used the cork gasket with gasket maker on both sides and sealed the ends with RTV too. I never trusted the rubber ones to work on the walls.
Be sure its not the oil pressure port on top that is making you think its the intake.

Forgot to mention to check your PCV stuff. Some blowby will cause high case pressure and keep blowing out the easiest seal. (Always the hardest!)

I've read about some units having the rear area that seals to the valley of the block cast or machined incorrectly so the block and the intake don't line up well. This was on older units.

It is an older intake. I bought it when it first came out. What has to be done to make it fit right or do I need a new Intake. Thanks.

I just took mine off and re-sealed it, I used a heavy bead of sealer and it has stopped leaking.
I did not use the cork, just sealer on the block walls.

yes i never had that problen on my,i had this intake since 2004 and the rtv seal looks ok

yep mine seals great, and it is the old style...now only if I can get my valve covers to stop leaking

I'm partial to Permatex "The Right Stuff" gasket maker. I've never had better success with anything else.

Mine leaked a lot when I first put it on, took it off, cleaned it up and put a nice thick bead of the black rtv and it sealed up great, no more leaks.

I would also check your distributor gasket. I had a nice oil leak from there after swapping heads due to the intake sitting lower. Pull the distributor, remove the gasket, and reinstall it. Use a feeler gauge to measure the distance from the intake to the distributor base. Measure the thickness of the gasket, and do the math.
