I think I saw that article. Yeah, it might be kinda funny looking but they aren't kidding about a FULL tube chassis. It looked to me basically like a street legal stock car with a camaro body. I don't think they'll ever get that much out of it though, regardless of how fast it is. Most people car shopping in that price range aren't lookin for a Camaro.

Actually, I dunno, if it was black I think the vents and things wouldn't stand out so much and it'd look a lot better in a picture. I do like the wheels, and I guess the headlight pockets need to be covered to help with really high speed drag.

BTW, I had the issue of Popular Hotrodding which featured that car (got destroyed in the leaky rear well of my '85 Z28 .) It has had more work done to it since that article. The hood is different (and ugly IMO) and it didn't have those head light covers. Heres what I can remember from the article: The body was built around twin ventury tunnels which suck the car to the ground at speed. The engine was described as "Winston Cup with no rules" and featured 15:1 compression (race fuel ONLY!) The rear gear ratio was small as you'd expect in a car that was built for top end speed, not excelleration. The rear hatch glass is Lexan. Amazingly, much of the interior was stock and functional. The article stated that the owner had run it at 200mph on the street! Thats pretty wicked!

Eriksson Camaro
250.3 MPH TESTED
He used to have a web site
I dont think so any more
But it wasn't built for looks
That site dosn't have a the specs
it would still do an 11 sec quarter with the same gearing
if you look around you can find more specs on it
Heres another that says 251.9 I think that is what he had on his site

What gears would it have to go 250 mph? Those must be some low gears...

My buddy here in town has 14:1 compression in his 82. It's a drag car though, and not that fast. Not sure what it has for gears, but its an automatic, and you can here it a mile away. (its been proven)
