I really don't see how the tan is all that bad. Just because some people don't like it, don't let that change your mind... especially if it is what you want! -89IRO

so where are the pictures of the finished project?

its not done yet i ordered a 4th gen rear, and sub frame connectors and had them sent to him hes putting them on next week, then it will be done

Tan Kicks a$$.

If you don't like it, you are entitled to that opinion, but at least it's not the same plain grey like every other thirdgen. Or every other car for that matter.

Black leather, that's cool. Plain grey cloth, not cool. No one ever said, I'm planning on swapping in a grey cloth interior.

Look at most Porshes Ferraris and other exotics. Most, not all, but most have black or tan.

1991 Z-28, When you gat ready to do the interior swap, are you gonna sell the tan? I already have a "beechwood" interior, but I'm always looking for another interior for a possible future project.

when dog poop dries and gets old, it turns grey.

All in good fun you guys, I know I'm in the minority on the tan thing.

lol thats funny, well im not sure if im going to sell it or not, i was thinking of painting all the plastic peices black??? do you think tahst a good idea? because its almost impossible to find all the black interior peices in perfect condition like my tan peices are, so if i just get them all painted, and im not sure about the seats, if you cover them with the 2 tone leather? or you just buy all new seats? ill have to figure it all out when it comes time to do it

i dont really hate the tan, it does look really good, i had leather in my last 91 z28, i liked it alot more then the cloth, and your right grey cloth is the majority, its nothin super, all ferraris and sports cars i do see mostly have tan and they look good, but mine isnt leather!

i agree the tan leather would look better. black leather is just so common, but it's common for a reason as well. either way it should look good.

I also like the tan with that color. Just make sure it's tan leather where ever possible. The new vette's have that same color match and they look really good.

damn! people just base their opinion on what other people are doing. why? you dont like grey because most cars have grey, HAHAHAHAH! just my experience that you will be happier if you base your opinion on what you like, and forget about what other people/cars have. but its up to you, follower

I didn't follow that last thread, but it seems to me your calling me a follower.

I won't even discuss the asthetics of the issue. Technically speaking, (or artistically) tan goes MUCH better with most colors. Grey is cheap because nowadays, that's all most cars use. That makes it cheaper to produce, and since it will go with anything (although not all that well) it's become the standard. That's the reason exotics don't have grey. Money is not an issue, and it's not like anyone would actually chose to have grey. OK, I guess I did discuss it.

As far as me personaly:
I can tell you the moment I made the decision that my "car" would have tan interior. When I was about 15, I saw an 85-87 red Iroc at a rest stop on RTE. 287 in NJ. It had tan interior. I knew that was the car I wanted. 12 years later, that's what I have. (it's an 89 though)I certainly did follow. I followed my judgement. I've always been an artist, and I've had an artists eye. I now do graphic art, and people trust my judgement everyday, and spend thousands of dollars "following" MY judgement.

And when did I say that I chose tan BECAUSE most cars are grey? I didn't. I was just stating a fact.

Look at all the cars on this board. My car is one of the most "stock" looking cars here. You may not like my choices, but d a m n, I hardly "follow", any trends on this board.

On top of all that, I was only messing around, it's not like I don't like anyone because of the color of your carpet.

Sheeesh!!

Take your foot out of your mouth and put it back on your grey carpet.

you should do the color combination that the 2002 anniversery vetts have , i think it is white/neutral with neutral leather. the color of your car is pretty close to what they are to. i really like the neutral color, and i also like the tan custom cloth interior that my 87 has. tan/nuetral= bad *** and rare

thanks

Is that a UMBC parking pass hanging from your rearview? I go to College Park, have the same pass. Nice Pic, I assume that is the bay in the background? Also, LOVE the wheels!!

Just though I'd chime in on the 'Great Tan Controversy'. I've always thought those exotic Ferarris and Porches with the red/tan combo looked great. My '92 has grey, my '83 has dk. blue. I must say I prefer the Dk. Blue over the gray just because it's a little different. Sometimes the little differences like that are what catch people's eye. Good, bad, or indifferent........

Here is a pic. It is a 87 Z28 with a Q-Jet fed 383. Built the engine in my garage and dropped it in over last years winter break. I drive to school everyday and park in lot 4, the big a$$ lot that is far from EVERYTHING!

the neutral is a newer color first used in the late 80's in the c4 corvette. it is lighter than the tan that was used in our cars, and has that really clean look. this is the colors of the 50th vette. the nuetral in this car is a little bit lighter then the neutral used in others.

Wow I guess my art class was worth something. When you talk colors there are hot colors (red, orange), cool colors (blur, green) and neutral colors (tan, beige). I think thats what he means by neutral colors.

I like neutral colored interiors. I think they look clean as hell and are different from the normal stuff you see. The only downside is that they are a PITA to keep clean. My truck has a beige (neutral) interior and a dark green (cool) exterior. I think its nice

I know this link is kinda weird, but I did a search just so you wont think I'm crazy!!

The tan interior looks good with that body color. Tan isn't my favorite interior color, but its a whole lot better than the Marroon/red combo that I have.

Grey interior is too bland, and Black is kind of dark.
