pics of the new one

snapped a few pics for the hell of it.. NO I DID NOT ADD THOSE SCOOPS!!! i bought the car like that from the Moron that owned it before and i just have not taken them off yet. notice they are even on backwards ahahahaha. my question to all of you is..

do i keep them but put them on right and more forward? Ditch them? Keep the same? i "could" also make them functional by cutting the hood(stock hood, who cares). the wheels are also being ditched for 17" Vortec Z's

I think it looks good, man! Gives it a sexy look - Kind of like the Plymouth barracuda Hood. You could try switching them around... I think it would look even better.

I can't say that it looks bad.. just wondering if close up they look like the corny stick ons you see with trucks on occasion.. if it does I would be using a heat gun to get them off in a heartbeat...

ditch 'em or add a double decker 4 foot tall wing to compensate for the scoops.

car looks vary sharp but i agree with the other guys ditch the scoops they look to outta place but if you do decide to ditch them make sure to remove all of them like the glue or adhesive that is holding them on or what ever you may have to repaint the hood i'm not sure how they are stuck on there. any pics of the inside?

Since they're not functional, I wonder what it would look like if you turned them around...kinda like a dual cowl induction?

Looks like a very clean car; it doesnt matter what hood you get, as long as those scoops arent on there.

It look s like someone put on scopes, that dont belong there, with some double stick tape. I've never seen those look good on anything.

I think the scoops look way cool towards the back like that, but not when they look pasted on. Basically, I'd either ditch them and go for some blisters (or aftermarket hood altogether), OR do a little work, make them look flush with the hood, paint it up, and have a REALLY bad ace looking hood! I like them, if they were well done it'd be really slick. How are they attatched now? If you can't remove them without damaging the hood I'd work with them, it's not like anything I've ever seen and think they have GOOD potential.

keep the scoops but just switch them around and leave them in those same spots and get the hood painted. it will almost kinda look like a ram air hood off of a GTO

No matter what you do with those "scoopes" they arer still going to look fake. I would either get rid of them or get a nre hood (ss or blister). Sorry put I see those thing every day and they trick me into thinking the are real.

Clean lookin' ride. Ditch the scoops though. However, I'd like to see what they would look like if they were on correctly and painted to match the car, just to see. Later!

Joe.

yeah its double sided tape. i dont have a heat gun and ive been way busy traveling to take them somewhere to get them off. i "was" thinking about switching them around.. cutting open the hood (cheap stock hood i could care less about) and make them functional. but then again i really really like the SS hood, and i do like the Z28 blister hood.

to the guys with the SS hood.. is the prep work for it hard? im a engine/electrical guy so im not up on the painting/body work scene. plus i live in CA and every place that has the SS hood for sale is back east and shipping is 175$!!! (Hawks)

anyone know of a place closer to CA that sells the SS hood? does it come functional? i have a TBI and the extreme K&N filter so i could take advantage of the hood pretty well.

thanks for all the comments guys.. i can get interior pics up soon, only think of significants would be the center console. thanks again

I haven't painted my SS hood yet...but..I'm more of a paint and body guy....so..to me...it's not really a big deal . My SS hood does have a couple flaws....like round the edges..I'll have to add some glazing putty and shave some eccess material off....no big deal. Also....I'll have to sand the gel coat...primer it..paint it...wetsand..then buff....not to bad....

does the scoop come "open" ? or did you have to cut it? are all the holes for the mounting hinges and hood like there or do i have to drill and tap those?

My scoop has 4 large holes behind the screen...would be easy to cut the rest of it out. The holes for the hinges are all pre-drilled and have taps in them. It's a simple swap. Just have to use your factory hood striker and latch.

Id say ditch the whole hood and put a classic looking cowl on it. If you do decide to ditch the scoope sned em my way I have some ideas for a set of them.
