Pictures Of My Twin Turbo IROC (Finally)
I have had my Camaro resto-mod finished for a while now, and kept promising some decent exterior shots. Well, I finally got some half decent photos at mt my brother's wedding, so I figured I would share.
You may notice this car looks familiar. Lets see if you can tell who I copied off of
You know, they say if you are going to copy, make sure you copy the best. Thats good advice!
Notice the custom made hood- a lot of time and two stock Camaro hoods made it happen (its all steel!)
Anyway, here they are:

I can't show photos of my car's exterior and forget about the TT L98 under the hood, so here is a pic of the engine too:

I think the vents are mandatory! Anyone that can take 2 stock Camaro hoods and make one that looks like that has my vote! :hail:

Wow man, it's not too often anyone on here really catches my eye, but that is a sick ride. Where in SE Pa are you located if you don't mind my asking. I'm in the West Chester area if you're familliar with it, if you're in the area tha'd be sweet. The TT setup looks great, i'd love to hear some #'s on it when you get them. I personally really like the hood on the car, and since it is so custom, atleast you have that to be your own car! Here's a shot of my TA if you're not familliar with it.

Turbos rock
*Best ET to date: 12.4@113 on drag radials on a hot, humid day.
*Best Trap Speed:13.0 at 117mph on a cool day with street tires (a lot of tire spin, but the engine ran very well in the cool air!).
*Dyno- 327RWHP, 468ft-lbs RWTQ- a low rpm torque monster, but the turbos restricted HP above about 4500rpm, hence the upgrade! This dyno was done on a hot day at the Wildwood, NJ cruise- cool air blowing over the intercoolers would have helped.
*These numbers were all on 6psi of boost, and 95,000 miles on the otherwise stock L98 (stock cam, pistons, intake, etc)
All my drag racing/testing so far was on junk-yard Volvo turbos that were too small for my engine, and were a restrcition above 5,000 rpm (one of these Volvo turbos is on eBay now, and the other one made it on my 2.8 Cavalier Z24!). I installed larger turbos when I restored the car (had the engine out to paint the engine bay). Current turbos are TO4E 57 Trim compressors, with T3 Stage III turbines (.63 A/R turbine housing). These turbos flow enough air for 700hp @ 15 psi of boost. Eventually, my goal is to get near that 700hp, but for now the stock long block will see no more than 10psi (I wouldn't trust it above that). With 10psi boost, and the larger turbochargers, it should easily be in the 11's if I can hook it up (stock rear suspension too!). I will be doing some drag strip runs at Maple Grove this spring to see what it can do.
Thanks all for the compliments.

Very clean ~ and super tough looking!!!! I love it. I do agree that clear sidemarker lights would look good. I like the hood, but one question.. How heavy is it compared to a stock hood?

Yes, it is stick. Tremec TKO 5-speed. I would have liked the T56 6-speed, but the TKO is rated for more torque, and I'm already at the limits of the TKO (I should be very close to the 550lb-ft rating).
The wheels are, as mentioned above, Boyd Coddington 18" Tuned series. I did not pay $600 a peice for them though (I figured about $600 per corner for wheel + tire). They are the same as what CrazyHawaiian has on his '92 Z28.

I wouldn't worry too much about the TKO. I am running some pretty decent power through it (more than 580 TQ at the tires) and it has held up just fine.

lol! Don't worry man, I work just as slow. And now I have a kid so imagine how slow things go for me now. I still have all those rims that I said I was gonna polish out & all the spindles I said I was going to modify for C4 & C5 brake conversions sitting & collecting dust lol
But seriously, trying to keep on topic, I'm in love with that TT setup under the hood 89JYturbo. Good job

Thanks for all the comments.
I don't have any more pics of the body, but Chris (TPI383) has been kind enough to host several pics of the engine for me at the following link:
