If you get yourself a quality cover I wouldn't worry about scratches as long as the car is clean when you cover it.

If you're going to store it for the winter I think you should do it right. I got my all weather outdoor cover at Car Cover World (http://www.carcoverworld.com/) and it's been great. They have a couple of styles designed just for indoor storage, the TanFlannel and DustStop. Plus they have a specific Camaro section with slightly better prices.

A good cover is a very worthwhile investment, especially if you've got some money in your paintjob. Actually, if you have some $ in the paint, don't even think about putting a cheap cover on your car.

I use one and it stays in the garage all winter. really keeps the dust off and saves the paint when people try to "slip" past it in the garage and rub up against it.

.....mine gets a TENT outside...b/c my dad says his paint will freeze in the back of his truck if he leaves it outside when it's cold out....and my mom would never let her car sit outside....so they stick the CLASSIC out in the cold

last year the weight of the snow made the top of the tent collapse on top of it!!! funny story to talk about now, but at the time i was PISSED

I usually throw mine on jackstands and cover for the winter use the outside cover from when it was outside, if you get a quality one shouldnt have to worry about scrathes. I use the evolution car cover for outdoors but they do make an indoor cover, my car becomes a temp storage shelf in the winters so another reason for a cover.

Nice cars nick.

Like previously stated, if your going to get a cover make it a good one or you may end up doing more damage than good.

Here's where my car spends most of it's winter days..

Gotta love California

You forgot to mention the smog *****!

however living in a place where rust is non existant and I can enjoy my car all year is a tradeoff I'm more than happy to oblige. Oh, might I add the great history of car culture here.. and the broad spectrum of beautiful girls? Man, I love socal

and Nick.. I think you'd be perfectly fine with a higher quality car cover.. I'd imagine the problems start surfacing when dirt is trapped under the cover, and either it is exposed to wind or is being dragged over the surface.. good to see the car has company!

Yes, but in NC I can drive my car all winter long AND we have no "smog *****", best of both worlds

But of course we have that stupid Mike Easley as our governor instead of Ah-nold.

I just want to see the Zed/'Vette babies

Unfortunately I don't have access to a garage, so Morticia (my T/A) will be spending winter outside
I hope she's a tough bird!... Tough but good looking!

hey Nick, I saw the vette yesterday. Looks great. I see it every now and then when I am comin home from work around 4:30. I am never too close as I am driving and at that red light but it looks very clean.

I would toss a nice sheet on it. I think a car cover would hurt more than help unless it was a very very nice one. (hard to find for our cars) unless it is a universal one.

Oh one last thing, are you interested in the "club" still? I have not herd from you in a while. I am 95% sure I have been sending you the newslaetter i am trying to make a normal thing. Lazer who posted above is going to be makig the club's website.

Oh well, I am hoping to have people meet up at my house one more time at least before the cold really sets in. My motor is being shipped tomorrow or monday, so maybe next week.

later,
-Dennis

Tt truly is a beautiful place. I went with my girl for a weekend we camped out. Everything was fun perfect weather, went hiking just enjoying the roads at a decent speed i wasnt trying to kill any deer or upset anyone around. Plenty of places to have your fun though. At 11-12 at night its like 30 mins before any cars pass...if u wanna do burnouts donuts and good fun like that...its pretty easy to get away with. During the day ull see some park rangers i dont know IF they can actually do anything or not but i just take it easy. Truly is a place to just enjoy ur car and be happy with it over all the other problems were always facing
