Stock rims or home made?

I own a 92 RS.
I hate the stock 91-92 rims except these ones below...
In a post, I've found this picture. I these rims looks good.
I'm just wondering if these rims are stock (available in option) or coloured (made by the owner)?

It looks like a graphite/ gun metal paint. I think that looks much better than the typical black I always see.

That's my old beater, I just went to Autozone and bought 2 cans of Duplicolor graphite wheel paint, sanded the wheels down then masked and sprayed. Looked a millions times better than the stock 15" wheels (it's a V6 RS car) and I spent like $150 including the wheels.

Nice job
The first time I saw your car, especially the rims, I ve known what I want to do with my rims.
To see more photos of your car, I'd been looking for your car at cardomain during several days.

Click on the www below my posts, it's a direct link to my cardomain. I sold the car, I just kept it under my cardomain because I get a lot of questions about it for some reason.

Nice rims. Simple. Subtle. Different.

Props on originality and style.

ok I know this is old so no body get a hissy fit. I have the 91-92 style rims and would like to make them look like the ones in the picture in this thread. Should I use the technique for stripping the factory clear coat that is explained in the sticky or should I sand with some 1000 grit paper and then put some of that black rim paint and then a coat of clear? Or should I strip the clear from the entire wheel have the lips polished and the spokes powdercoated black.

....i cant decide...what do you guys think?

That's my old car, I stripped them with aircraft stripper then hit them with sand paper, then masked and painted.

Did you clear coat the wheels after you painted them? Did the Duplicolor wheel paint hold up ok?

I did not clear over the graphite, I just did two coats. They still look good, I talk to the guy who bought the car pretty regularly and they've chipped from driving, but the paint hasn't peeled or anything.
